Newbie Ventilation Guide

Hello, sorry for posting another thread but I have a different question. Could I use a regular 6" kitchen extractor fan as both the intake and exhaust?

(One one way for intake, and another the other way for exhaust)

This is the fan I have been looking at:
http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-xf150bs-25w-6-ceiling-wall-mounted-kitchen-fan/11640?kpid=11640&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product Listing Ads-_-Sales Tracking-_-sales tracking url&cm_mmc=Google-_-Shopping - Heating and Plumbing-_-Shopping - Heating and Plumbing&gclid=CNT7yuTs_8wCFa8W0wodrOIEHg

Do you have any recommendations for extractor/intake fans?

Would this work in a 1.2m × 0.5m grow space with one 400w hps?

Is there a cheaper/easier way to do this? Have I got it all wrong? :D Odour is not a major problem.

Also how are these things wired, do they come with plugs? :S I wouldn't know how to wire so looking for solutions with plugs. :)

All I have is the lamp, a 6 inch clip on fan, and some mylar and fire blankets. (safety nut, planning on lining my box with them)

Could you tell me what else I need?

I need some very basic instructions. :D
Thank you.

Best is the inline 6 inch diameter extract fan

that way you tape or afix it to that venting silver coil stuff

thats very difficult to cut, for me anyways

and the other end of the fan to one of those expensive

carbon filter round things full of carbon

leave the inlet passive that way it sucks air from all over the place

ensuring any loose smell is vacuumed up too

tho the carbon filter is expensive and useless in hi humid or wet weather

is not an immediate necessary and can be gained later /when rich?

do keep a small fan in there, as plants need to breathe, and a small 4-6 inch pc type is ideal

as for plugs? you gotta learn to do it, good news most UK plugs have their own fuse

so if you get it wrong they won't know about it at Sizewell A ...lol

just ensure you get the right cable or better snip up an old extension flex

consider a 15 minutes ac type timer is cheap

good luck

I find that these forums a great place for canni specific horticultural info and when it gets into technical systems info identify the specific terms and installation types, then cross reference against google/youtube. However many of the best tutorials and progressive concepts (go nerd out on the LED COB forum :) ) will lead you right back to ROI.

Impeccable product is only (for me) a portion of the satisfaction from this hobby (again, for me). Have fun!
