Newbie questions

A few questions that need some experience. That's experience not guessing.

I made a homemade cooltube using a sheet of "normal" glass from the glaziers. Do u guys think this "normal" glass will significantly effect the quality of light from my 250w HPS?

Secondly, I only have the space for 1 growdrobe and was hoping to maintain a continual grow so the light will need be on 12/12 all the time. I don't have the space to keep a mother, only 4 plants in the cabinet, so all cuttings will really need to be taken from a plant that is already in the cabinet. Does anyone have any suggestions about a schedule for this?

Lastly. If I build up a stock I was thinking of forcing a hermie and making my own feminised seeds. How many seeds can you get from 1 plant?

The problem here is that your mothers will flower too , if placed under 12/12. Maybe you can seperate the areas, flower under a small HPS, veg(or mothers ) under CFL??
