Newbie on the first grow with a heat prob

My plant started life a week before my light was delivered but after a few days of light it was bent in half. I assume it's from stretching due to poor light coming from the window it was sitting by. I have replanted it up to it's cotyledons leaves so hopefully the long stem will develop roots. My problem now seems to be heat in my 3' by 6' closet setup.. it was 90 degrees today. I now have the closet door open and the temp is down to 78. I don't want to drill and holes if it can be helped but I do need to cool the room.. I'm using a 400 watt MH with the ballast mounted outside the closet. Any ideas on how to cool the room would be awesome :)

do you have an exhaust fan running? you should have a 4" fan running full speed or a 6" running half speed if you ever hope to cool that space. A cool tube for your bulb will help a lot to

Actually you should have a fan going AND a low watt CFL right on top of that thing. 6500K 26-watt will get her going and get her bushy.

Although u dont want to drill any holes an exhaust tube for the light will help alot and where its only around the light you dont have to worry much about your perfumes gettin pumped thru ur home. since ur vegging im assuming ur running ur light 24/7. Everyone has their own opinions on lighting schedules during veg but if youre using the MH you may wanna cut it off for a few hours during the hottest parts of the day. 16/8, 18/6, 20/4. something like that. i know youre prolly thinkin "I want it to get as big as possible so im running it full time" n that works but if ur burning the hell out of em you'll wind up with nothing. Id take Hotrod's advice and incorporate a CFL or two to get it thru the first few weeks untill u can get and install an exhaust tube. The plant will most likely stretch a little more between internodes but you will be able to manage the heat way better. A 400W MH can effectively grow several plants full on thru to harvest so using it on one sproutling is major overkill. If ur pockets are deep enough get a blackstar LED. I believe they have one at 240W that will take two plants thru to harvest using very little energy and creating almost no heat. im lookin into gettin one myself. they run a lil less than 200 bucks and ive read a couple grow forums that say they will def work for MJ
