Hi all,

Just in the setup process right now and ran into some issues hanging up my light and exhaust fan. I’m using a 2x4 gorilla tent and the karabiners from my light (HLG 320W XL) were too small for the crossbar at the top of the tent. Also, the wires they provided for hanging will not be suitable for adjusting the light up and down... sooo. Question:

1)Do you have any adjustable ropes or hangers that work well? If so can you please provide a link to their website or the listing on Amazon?

2) do you have karabiners that you’ve found to be proven useful? If so could you link to Amazon?

thanks for reading!

I'm having a hard time picturing what you're describing, but with rope ratchets, you can loop the carabiner around the pole and hook it back onto it's own rope-instead of hooking the carabiner directly to a pole. I've seen some new ppl with this problem before, not sure if that's what's going on here. If this does not apply here, my apologies!

The HLG 320W XL has wires from each corner that go to a small carabiner correct?

If so, you can get a simple S hook that's large enough to hook the crossbar of the tent and you should be able to attach the light fixture carabiner to the bottom of the S hook for a simple/cheap solution.

Can add a rope ratchet into the picture (carabiner on the rope ratchet will fit pretty much any S hook as well).

That’s totally fine lol I tried to articulate but a photo might say it better than a thousand words I write. I’ll try to get one tonight when I get home from work.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I think the S hook and zip-ties might be the way I go in the interim. I was thinking about getting a larger karabiner to do the same job, but I have tons of zip ties I could get from work so that's probably the way I'll lean.

Pics attached for what the problem I ran into:

Can solve most any problem with zip ties, s hooks and duct tape.

Or I like this way too if you want to get fancy:

You can find EMT conduit and fittings most anywhere. It's cheap and if you are in the US and have a big lot store that sells it, they'll probably also even cut it for you.
