Newbie Needs Help!

Herro there, So i'm new to this whole grow operation but im hoping to have a semi successful first batch. im hoping to get a system going with a Jardin 3'3'5.3 foot tent, with a 400watt HPS bulb im hoping to place 5 plants in there? "Not sure if thats a good idea or not :S" My real concern here, Is Odor... My unit is inspected once a year. *Its a housing unit not an apartment* so im thinking all should be fine and dandy, but that being said... i've never been in a room where the great herbs been growing and im not sure how i should go about filtering it. Im told that the best thing is a carbon filter? Again, still not terribly familiar with this stuff. If someone could just give me a bit of advice as to whether or not i can do my *3'3'5.3* tent and maybe what i should use for a filter? Apologies in advance for writing such a long post :S. Thanks in advance guys!

Carbon scrubber is your best bet but unless someone was helping pay the bills, no way would thy walk past my front door "cuz they say so". I don't know how the law works for yor neck of the woods, but why would you let ANYONE in your house!? Grow wise, if you have strangers coming in, ask yourself if the plants you have are worth your cage rattled by the cops when those randoms start in with the " you should have seen the idiots house I walked into today that thought I didn't know what was going on in that tent. "

The tent will be located in the second partition of my basement "where my hot water tank and storage closet is" I figure theres no reason for anyone to ever go down there. I'm really just concerned with the odor over-powering the smell of laundry which would be from my dryer and it is part of the landlord tenant act where i'm from that does allow them to come inspect my unit with 24 hours notice once a year. *they've already done so this year im good for another 9 months* Still worried about the odor though. ahah. Any advice would be fantastics! =D

Yep, carbon scrubber is the way to go. Also, it might prove tricky, but look for some strains that are low Odor. You can find some strains that wont smell much at all, unless you bump them around. Northern Lights is a good low odor strain.

Seeing as its close to a laundry machine, the use of Ona gel might be of some relieve for you in this scenario, I heard it tends to smell like cleaners / washing things.
Combined with a carbon filter, would be your best bet I think.

Alright thanks guys! ill get a combination of onagel and a carbon filter. one last question. Would a 3'3'5.3 be enough space for 5 plants?

I am getting to where I love the smell of ona, it is best right after I top off the bucket with fresh Ona

Depends more on the strain and how you train her as to how many will fit. I run a 4x8x8 and have fit at the most 45 plants, (very small ones) and at least about 12 in 5 gal pots. All depends on where your game plan leads you.

The hot water tank is a good reason to inspect down there. I would stagger my grow operation so I could pack up everything before the inspection, assuming you know when they will inspect.
