Newbie lighting question

I just got a rather small tent. 36x24x60 I think. I have a 4 bulb 6400k each t5ho fixture that I plan to use for veg, supplemented with a few side cfls. I also have a 250 watt HPS and was wondering if I should switch to that during flower? Currently have 3 sprouts that will go under the T5ho soon. Any suggestions help. Not many funds to add much more.

I also have the option to get some red spectrum bulbs for the T5ho. 3 sprouts are 2 northern lights and 1 "quick one" that came for free. All auto flowering.

A 2 foot. Also just edited first post to contain more info on plants.

I was thinking of ScrOG because of the limited space. Should this work and my funds magically increase I may reinvest in a larger tent and T5 system. Not looking for anything crazy as far as yields go but...

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

I would switch to the HPS in flower for sure, and if you can control the heat throw in the t5's with it. I have the same size tent as you that I use exclusively for veg, t5's with CFL lighting, etc, and it works great, but if I were going to flower I'm going to throw an HPS in there

Awesome thanks for the replies. I have some fairly good temperature control as my intake and exhaust setup are on speed control setups so I can increase or decrease both fans according to my needs. I also have a small humidifier in there for now until they are slightly bigger and can make their own moisture.

One concern I have is where to place both lights in such a small space. It would be a pain to switch them from front to back to get equal hps and t5. Or should it not matter much if one side gets more of one type of lighting than the other? Should I switch to red spectrum cfls on my side lights during flower?

For light placement I'd go with the HPS on top and t5's/CFL's for side lighting. I'd probably just stick the t5's in the back and then do CFL's for the sides if you can. You could do a couple CFL's in the red but you're going to be getting a lot of the same spectrum from the hps so you might just stick to the blue side with CFL's just imo

astronautrob got it right. Place the t5 on the side and use the cfl's to balance the light on the side in bloom and run the hps on top, and you will have very good light. Rotate the plant if needed, but it probably will be fine in any case. Good luck

Bummer! I wanted to start a grow journal and keep you folks up to date that way. I reckon I'll post a few pictures here of my VERY NEW grow and establish my account here at the same time :-). So pictures to follow in a moment.

So far this is what I have. 3 babies. The one that actually lost its she'll was just about to be tossed in the trash yesterday. Over watered the girls and it bent completely I'm half (top facing soil). Read up on the symptoms, aerated them by poking holes in the soil and she perked up overnight.
