Newbie inherited a grow room!

I inherited a grow room from a friend and it includes all the lighting, medium (coco) and Canna nutrients. I just picked up 30 clones and are getting ready to transplant into the coco but everything I read says that do not use the nutrients in the same strength as the grow chart indicates. Also, how far above the plants should the lights be? Any advice is welcomed! Tess~

sorry to hear about your friend

i usually use nutes at about half strength. as for lights start with one foot above plants, or hang the lights and put your hand under it at the top of your plants and if it feels hot to your hand you are to close. you only want it to be warm.

Congrats on your inheritance. Thirty plants seems like a lot, I'm struggling with three. Good luck to you

30 plants are going to be so absolutely overwhelming you wont know what to do.

It depends on the nutrient numbers. In veg its usually safe to feed weekly with adequate watering in between. Assuming the clones are already well rooted and the coco is not high in nutes itself.

I recommend putting the lights at their final destination and allowing your plants to grow into their space. Especially with 30, its going to be hard to keep a flat canopy. (Assuming the donation included decent lights)

Since this sounds new for you, you should go the route of least resistance. Put the lights up high, water when dry, nutrients only when signs are shown and enjoy a decent first crop.

what kind of lights are they ?

30 is way too much start with 5 max

Dont put your lights as far away as blue jay suggests. You're going to end up with super stretchy bitches with node spacing way too far apart.

Depends on the light and distance. Ok, ok lets get more specific. About 4 feet above your lowest branch is good to start for any light.

ok lets get more specific what kind of light is he using you two are bickering back and forth and you don't even kno what kind of lights he has if its cfls kinetic is right if its a 250w hps kinetic is right if its a 1000w digi mh hps switchable your both right

in other words, the closer to the top of the plant is most favorable. I'd say 3 inches?

Why stop there, have you heard of the monster benefits of putting branches in the lights!

I don't understand, why you don't wrap your branches like a Christmas tree [with the lights], then you'd get full lighting...

Thanks for all of the replies... I know 30 is a lot and I am a bit overwhelmed. I repotted half in 1 gal pots and still have to repot the other 15. Right now they are under a Jupiter 8 canopy with a MH 1000W bulb. I have it about 4 feet over the top of the highest plant. When I repotted I used nutrients off the Canna grow schedule but used 1/4 the strength. I'm wondering if I should flush them as some are getting yellow spots on the lower leaves? Here are som pics.
