My setup consists of 4 26W (100W equivalent) 6500K CFLs, bagseed, about 2 weeks old in MG organic soil. Closet grow, Around 86F-75F day-night temps on 24 hour light. Ive been watering with tap water that Ive let sit out for a few days (to evaporate chlorine?) If you're wondering anything else just ask.

The "Biggest" one has turned yellowish and leaves turned down. I believe this was caused from overwatering which may have lead to nitrogen deficiency. Im hoping a couple days w/o water will let her dry up a bit and get better.

The other 3 were looking good up until a couple days ago. 2 of them started wilting up and look like they're just gonna up and die on me. How can I salvage them? Last night I had to turn off the lights for around 8 hours because my GF was over and in the morning they looked awful :(

Here are some [God awful, webcam] pics. HELP ME!!!! I want these babies to LIVE!

When was the last time you watered? How much? How wet is the soil? If they are indeed overwatered, then light will help evaporate off extra moisture faster. I've seen much worse, so don't panic. Just figure out what you are doing wrong, and make an adjustment. Regardless, if the moisture level is too high/low it will take longer for the seedlings to develop.

Plus, your day temp is 10 degrees too warm. Just a thought/experiment, h2o2 (liquid oxygen) hydrogen peroxide can be applied, mixed with, hopefully, distilled water. This could give an immediate oxygen boost to the roots. This will likely kill most micro-organisms that are living in the soil, though. I think one 8 oz container with one gallon of water is the correct dilution ratio.

I would back the light off, too. Imagine feeding steak to an infant. Okay, okay, you can't compare cfls to steak...Maybe a hamburger. Will only do more harm than good. Back off at least a foot until some more vegetation cometh forth.

dropping seeds in dirt sucks. get yourself a humidome, and a bag of soilless (sp?) plugs. Drop your seeds in, rip a piece of the plug and stuff the hole, sit back, and watch them grow.

I think you're fucked. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Seriously thanks for the advice, guys. I think the two of them are going to be f**ked, but I'll keep with them until its for sure. I'm gonna move up the lights like delta said and tomorrow I'll get some hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. I'll look into getting a humidome tomorrow as well, that sounds like it would create a better enviroment for them. I'll probably have to germinate some more bagseeds this week and I'll try to get some rockwool or other equivalent this time.

Also, A female friend of mine who has been know to garden suggested that the 8 hours w/o light might have been a shock to them since they havent been conditioned to have periods without light. You guys think this might be true? I feel like that period without light really took a toll on them.

Isnt 75F-85F the ideal temperature range? I thought I was doing alright on that aspect.

I'll update in a couple days to let you know if they turned around

Get a fan!!! quick!! I had that happen in an extra room that got alot of sunlight, if its the same thing, need more air flow, otherwise the light won't be enough to dry up the water, and the longer it sits the worse it gets... I lost a whole bunch of babies in that room thinking the ceiling fan would be enough, if I had an extra fan soon enough they might still be alive...*starts crying* I CAN STILL HEAR THEIR SCREAMS!!!! †L† sorry, I felt it needed dramatic emphasis... :blsmoke:

I definitely favor a fan with proper air circulation to a dome that would increase the moisture level.

Your friend is absolutely correct about any abrupt changes in the light schedule. Always try to gradually increase/decrease light.
