Newbie - Harvest Advice

Hello all! Yet ANOTHER newbie here.. Grew 4 plants.. Too much for my space.. Not a good yield but I'm not a heavy smoker so 4 or 5 buds will last me a while. My girls LOOK like they are getting close, but I would like to seek wisdom from the hive mind for any thoughts on about when I should look to harvest. Please see my photos and advise.. Thank you all in advance. Not a good first crop, but a great learning experience. I'll take what I can get. :)

You need to go awhile longer..in the mean time...buy a jewellers loop (magnifying glass) online. Trichome color is what you use to indicate when plant is really..typically 10-20amber colored trichomes and you're good to go..want a more uplifting high..harvest earlier...want a more couch lock..harvest with more amber..
Beware as more amber is more degradation of THC..

Cheers

Already have one, but my ignorance may not allow me to fully understand what I am looking at which is why I'm reaching out. One question: I flushed the plants last week. Is it true that leaves may start to turn as the plant converts if fuel from the leaves to the buds?

Also I wouldn’t start flushing till the last week maybe the last day if your using organic nutes.
most cash cropping growers have too cause they grow for yield above quality as use plenty of hard nutes.
if your leaves haven’t turned yellow and they are still healthy that means they are probably still growing. Metabolism is important so if they are still getting light they still need food to produce weight ... so you can feed them low doses from here on if you want more weight.

The THC converts to THC-N, which isn't a bad thing if you want it to get to sleep.

I'm looking for more of a high happy high.. I don't want to crash.. So any advice to get that would be great.. I have 2 northern lights plants, and 2 original glue plants.

Hello everyone.. So it's been a hair over a week, and I think I am seeing the Amber you are speaking of on ONE of the 4 plants. Please review this photo and advise. Thank god I am a photographer so I have a Macro lens that lets me get close enough for you to get a good look. Am I on the right track? How much time is left (Estimate). So grateful for the help!

Edit: Actually upon closer inspection of the photos I am seeing a little amber on all of them (If my circle is in fact the "amber" I am looking for). I would say the amber is about 2 or 3% of the plant right now.. Not much at all

I have another newbie question: It seems the "sap" on the plant is the stuff everyone is after. My question is since the sugar leaves seem to be covered as much as the bud, are they also okay for smoking, or do you trim them before curing and throw them away?

Well, I throw my frosty trim in a paper bag and dry and cure it like buds. It's not bad at all in my desktop vape. I usually give that to my wife though until it's gone. She doesn't mind, and she's a lightweight so it's all good. I toss most of the leaves though, just not the really frosty ones.

I know a lot of people are gonna have other opinions on this one.

I've only smoked one "stash" of weed in my life. I am the ultimate lightweight. I was given a canister of ground up weed, and i was given one bud. I have no idea where it came from, the age, the condition, the type. If there is such a thing as "junk weed" then I probably smoked it. I have a firefly cause I am scared of lung cancer (Runs in my family), seems to work okay. I am raising 2 that are "original glue" and two that are "Northern Lights" I'd say my yield will be slightly "below average" but acceptable for a first time grower. For me, 3 buds from each plant would last me for 6 months! I love the idea about the leaves.. Why not try it? Couldn't hurt.. :)
