Newbie Grow! Super Skunk Feminized (Nirvana) To be Picked or Not To Be Picked?

whats up pros and newbies alike! Didn't need to much help through the grow. Her fruit is 100% organicly grown but I need help through harvesting to the last step of curing. Hopefully I get some help and this helps any other newbie grower on this site. She is currently 27 inches tall and 65 days old(8 weeks and 5 days)

everyone has their own preference i was always told pick it when the trics hit 10% amber hang dry till you can snap the stem then put in a mason jar for awhile the long the better make sure to burp the jar afew times aday

Checked out your grow, very nice man. Try some nirvana strains. Smoked all of yours that you got going, sour grapes is gonna be great! Super Skunk blows them all out of the water lol. jk. Guess I am papraniod about my buds getting dry and turning to powder when I break it up lol!

it probably does my sour diesil gets that way solid nugs nothing but a bunch of kief so damn tasty. would love to try new strains. did some hindu skunk last year green house one of the strains i want is ji which is skunk #1 x jack herer.

ya nirvanas is skunk #1 and skunk special, got that skunky(almost BO smell) with the fruitiness of skunk special. Oh and anything with hindu in it will knock you out. If you like indicas I would recommend to give Aurora from Nirvana a try.

Not yet, I still see too many white hairs for my liking. Just an opinion to throw out to ya though.

Depends on the strains just to note, I have had harvests with little to no orange hairs but the trichs were almost half amber. Get a scope and check the trichs and tell us what you see.

Ya I am not going by hairs(if any are left they will turn color during curing). I am going more by trichs and bud color. If you look at my pics the first pic is what I want my cola to look like, most of the hairs in that pic are starting to recede and the bud is looking a nice light green and frosted. The trichs very from the lower buds to the middle to the top. Right now the lower buds are a week off and the trichs 10/90 amber/cloudy. I will probabley chop the top and let the lower half finish. The middle is the best part of the plant and her the trichs are 60/40 amber/cloudy. The top (cola surprisingly is not done from the looks but her trichs 30/70 amber/cloudy. I think I am going to chop her tomorrow night, I know more people would let her go but I like the way the trichs are looking, but if persuaded I may wait. I like couchlock stone but don't mind a more sativa buzz from more THC than the other chemical I can't recall at this moment lol. Smoking on some Kryptonite, great sativa buzz that makes you stuter and feel like retard.

Well I think I will give her another flush of fresh water PH'd to 6.8. Took another look at the trich's and I should of done it when I wasn't high becasue the middle of the plant where it is most developed only has about 20% amber so another flush and I will be watching the trich's closely. Gonna have some pics up here shortly, see if I can do it before I leave today for a trip to the lake. If not it will be in the evening, thanks for everyones vote and comment +rep

I have just harvested for the second time some super skunk from White label and to be totally honest unless half the trichs are amber i would hold off....looking at your pics in my humble opinion its about a week away....worth waiting while more blooming good stuff develops.

Ya see mine is a phenotype a bit different from yours. Yours should have afghani x skunk #1....mine is skunk special x skunk #1 but it can't be too far off from yours. I will take your advice and wait a week. Sorry just got back from the lake and I am beat from the day...sorry the bud porn will be posted tomorrow

Looking good. I can't advise you on when to harvest, am having the same dilemma myself, just a couple of days behind you. Also using molasses in a mostly organic dirt grow.

Well what strain you got going? sativa? Indica? Pics? lol By the way what molasses you using? Got mine at Fred Myer(seeing you are in Warshington lol) Its in the organic section and its called wholesome sweeteners organic blackstrap molasses. Has NO sodium, over 750mg's of potassium, 25g's of sugar, 10% mag, 8% iron, 15% zinc. Plant loves it

I have no idea about the strain(s) as the seeds were a gift. I'd guess Indica mostly going by the wide leaves on the bottom and plants did not stretch above 2 feet with one topping and no other training. But the high seems more Sativa. There are pics in my journal, link in my sig. Don't know offhand the brand of molasses but it is organic blackstrap, bought at a food co-op.

They look bomb whatever they are, looks like you might have to chop your tops and let your bottoms ripen...nothing wrong with that though

I just popped a Super Skunk last week she is couple inches high now.. hope it looks half as yummy as yours.

Well ifyou have anything better than a 150W HPS and 2 8500K daylight cfl's and 2 warm white 2700K cfl's you will have more potency and yield. She is touchy with ammonium based nutes so I went the organic route and was not disappointed. Now if you got the Nirvana strain of super skunk you will be growing my phenotype but if not more than likley it has more afghani traits in her other than the skunk special in mine. The sativa bud formation that skunk special brings out in super skunk is amazing!
