Newbie error !!!! I've cut some big fan leaves will this matter ???

Help for some stupid reason i went a bit silly with the cutters today my white rhino(5 of) are 2 weeks into flower and there were a couple of really big fan leaves blocking lower canopy so i chopped em without thinking to check,then when i did check on here it seems its a big no no :wall: have i dropped a bollock ? any help would be appreciated

You shouldnt have done that because the fan leaves are what absorbs the most light and keeps your plants healthy. Your girls will get rid of the fan leaves when they are no longer of use. Its a learning experience.

Just dont repeat Step 1 and 2. Go directly to Step 3 and leave most of those alone.


Im kidding, I like to skirt/lollipop/trim the lower several inches a few weeks into flowering. Everyone has their own way. Experiment and find yours. Just keep growing and definately keep asking questions.

Wat pages was kinda hoping you would remember at least around the general page the information is on. Very curious running a side by side experiment with 2 6' 7" vanilla kushs. And really don't got the time between school work and friends to flip through 867 pages. Good job btw :)

I cut ALL of my fan leaves..... 5 days later I loved the results.... My girls grew new leaves and look better than ever! Its all about opinion dude... If ur plants are healthy enough.. U will love the results in a cuple of days

Veg mode is the time for these experiments. Its science and proven the fan leaves are important, however not all of them . Especially if your as good as me? lol......

See i always thought you were suppose to leave the fan leaves alone. Thats what i have always read on the forums and in books lol

Would someone mind explaining which ones to cut if there not all important?

I prefer to leave my fan leaves, the more light absorption the faster it grows from my experience. I just bend the leaves or branches so they get more light. for instance when a lower branch reaches a fan leaf I'll bend the fan leaf down under the branch and the branch leaves will hold the fan leaf down or you can tie them off to the side if they aren't to that point yet.
