Newbie -4x4 grow tent cmh light advice needed

Hey,

I am going to purchase a 4x4x7 tent as my ceilings are just below 8 feet in the basement.

I have narrowed it down to two options for lights :

Sun system 315cmh or hortilux 315cmh

In your opinion which is best? My understanding is the sun system can be closer to the canopy (18-20 inches) while the hortilux should be 3 feet away. I worry with a 7 foot tent, light takes up one foot, plants would not be able to exceed 3 feet with the pots for the hortilux. Is this achievable or should I go with sun system so my plants have an extra foot of grow space? I’m wondering if anyone is using the hortilux in this type of space with success!

Any tips much appreciated!

Ya as Corey said, a 315 won't cover a 4x4

2.5x2.5 maybe

600w hps crushes a 4x4 pretty good tho.

I assume the 630cmh would kill it too
honestly was going to say if u really want to overkill the grow go with 630cmh because that's just more power and more money to drop on the light but for like 140 you can get a nice 600watt hps soo idk imo its up to the person growing I guess

If this is a flower tent I'd go with a 1k hps w air cooled reflector and dimmable ballast. You will DEFINITELY "crush" it. At 62 watts a sq ft your entire canopy will explode. Gradually up the watts to full over the first 2 weeks. You thanwill more make up for the extra electricity in yield to run the 1K lamp. IMHO that is.
