I've used plain tap water before with no ill effects, but some strains will not handle the excess chlorine or the higher ph as some plants would not tolerate the lower ph. I am not the most experienced grower. I have watered with tap water that was leveled at 8.0, and had no problems, but wouldn't recommend it.

I do not know if boiling water would release the chlorine(I would assume it should)...others have said that simply leaving your water uncovered for 24 hours prior to use to release the chlorine(I would cover with screen and keep out of light in room temp)

I have heard of vinegar being used, but have never tried it. I have heard people say it is better to just buy the ph up or ph down as it is a lot easier to control how far up or down you want to adjust the ph of the water.

mature=alternating nodes...usually there will be some pre-flowers by this time. I Usually flush every 3rd water(I water every 6-9 days). Some say it is not needed in soil especially soil like MG that has slow release fertilizers, but I figure it doesn't harm the plant, and maybe it will get rid of some of my time release fertilizers I don't want around when it comes time to harvest. Your temps seem pretty good, MJ can handle a pretty large variance, although there are nominal temperatures I believe constant 72-75 is preferred by many... I just made a smaller grow space for my plant, it gets up to 85 during the day, and down to 55 during the night(my grow space is in a garage hard to control temps)

With the lights I would say just keep them as close as you can without causing heat stress, it sounds like you have it at a good distance, I am usually told anywhere from 12-18 inches...

its doing ok, i'm gonna take a couple more pics tonight, but working out a few more venting problems on my smaller space. The extra heat hasn't seemed to harm it(was up to 95 for a couple hours today) But the extra light thats reflected is worth it. I started a clone flowering a few days ago(its from a friends outdoor plant) I don't know if its male or female yet, so I'll see how that goes. I got a free plant hopefully female, and he gets to know if his is worth keeping.

need a lil input on my babies posting pic this weekend maybe .

alil update they r 23 dayz of age. I water every 3-4 days.I feed them on the 16th of this month frist feeding of mg 8-7-6
last watering was 21st this month my temps r 86-88 lights on 68 lights off
18/6.
humidity is 49%-70% low-high
my MG soil is just N-P-K= 0.21-0.07-0.14
i folair feed grow big yesterday on the 22th

my problem is that im only seeing my 2 biggest plants growing new growth on the bottom stem all the plants have 4-5 nodes. My bigest 2 r starting to look like bushes and rest like loollie pops.
is this normal?
so how do i promote more new grow nodes on the lower stem:confused:

does cutting off dead/damage leafs slow the growth? cause i havent cut anything off my bigest plant and its the only 1 thats growing crazy.

lots of people say cutting dead or dying leaves will in fact slow growth, but leaving a leaf to die on its own will also slow growth. If you gently pull down on a leaf you think is dead or dying, it may come off easily, which will normally benefit you. Many people say to leave it if it does not come off.

I try to judge which I think would benefit the plant most, if I leave a dying leaf the plant will use energy trying to keep it alive.(and will eventually fall off).

If the majority of the leaf is ok, I will cut the portion of the leaf that is damaged from the plant,(I wont cut if the cut will make a larger area to heal than originally would have been)...mainly I do this when my lights get too close and burn the plant.

If it's a deficiency of some kind make sure you address that, you don't want to have to remove too many.

During flower I do remove fan leaves occasionally to let light to lower bud sites...(most post's I've seen recommend against removing healthy fan leaves)...(some say it's good to remove to let light onto bud sites) I will only remove 1 leaf every couple days if I think it will benefit the plant to get the light in that area so I don't over stress the plant.

To encourage branching I believe it is phosphorous(encourages root growth), but if they are different plants it may be genes...

my plants may be different but all bag seeds. is it ok to give them flowering nutes while in veg stage? like fox farm tiger bloom 2-8-4 or big bloom 0.01-0.3-0.7 if so which is best to give them to grow new growth on the stem? they r almost 4 weeks old now.

Of those 2 I would use the big bloom, but if your leaves are covering a lot the elbows that should be forming new growth it may just take a little longer for them to start growing.

Sup peeps heres alil update the problems i had with yellowing and spots seem to stop spreading since i gave them some F.F grow big nutes.:hump:

i water every 3-4 dayz with spuer thrive
im useing 400w HM/HPS
10 bag seeds only 9 of them 10 grow fast all 9 bag seeds r 5-6 in above the soil with 5-7 nodes. Im hopeing 4-5 of these 9 r female and hopeing to get 1-1 1/2oz per plant.
think of veggin for another 2 weeks. hope that enough time to get them big enough to give me a oz per plant. bongsmilie

68-87 temps 40-60%humdity. 400wat light 15 in away from the plants.

how long would u veggin a plant to get a oz? plants have a 6-8 week flower stage?

so 2 more week veg and 6 weeks flower and it should be almost rdy for harvest?

can i get a oz per plant while they r in 1 gallon pots?

i was thinking about flowering them to see how many gurls i have and then reveggin them good idea?
can u take clones and root them in just water i seen a thread has any 1 tryed this? (Just water)
