The flip side of your last point is that it is too easy for suicidal people to off themselves rather than getting the psychiatric care they desperately need.I think that was what is referred to as "a leap of faith" type of argument.
The US has by far the highest gun homicide rate of any developed nation. It's the number of guns and ease in getting them that is the problem. Wherever did you get the idea it was Ritalin?
Can we please have the same rate of gun homicide that Canada does? Do we need to sacrifice another 10,000 lives to the altar of the NRA this year? Just so that people can falsely believe that they are safer with that gun.
BTW, I'm all for gun owners using their weapon to off themselves. That's the most common time a firearm is put to the use it was designed for. I'm OK with that.
