I do DWC and I start them in rapid rooters or 1' sq rock wool then put them in the net lid with hydro effing ton roots grow down into bucket and fill 5 gal bucket with massive root ball that needs trimming later. I don't use drip ring with it.

k so u hand feed thru the top till they get roots out the bottom then i assume?

Yea I mix up in bucket then match temps and change water. then bump EC during week to keep it on point. Pain in the arse sometimes but it gets me in the buckets catching rot or any other issues. Was thinking of an flo set up next. But honestly I didn't mind the extra work I took it as a learning session each time.

To answer your question the first week I keep water level up in media to make roots come down faster. Didnt take long like a few days. but had to raise water or nothing will happen. Then I give it an air space on the roots like 3 inches.

Water change time is with a bucket head (Wet/dry vac) from HD cost like 17$

Oh and IMHO HydroGuard will save you a lot of troubles later if you start adding it early..

Can have ya thought of drilling a hole ( in the basket ring ) for a funnel to add nutes/water ? I seen a 2 bucket system.so the bucket to side was say a res...........so im wondering if ya do that, and just let em drink.

Yeah you could. Do like a gravity feed(Auto Pots) on it. Should be simple enough. Having the res bucket would make it 1000% easier late in the game.

Pretty sure I will be drilling holes on the next DWC adventure(in CoCo atm). I see 100% already the difference from my last DWC grow and this CoCo Im in atm. Last time (DWC) had colas the size of basketballs and stalks bigger around than a mans wrist; the CC is nice but less than half of what the other did... I'm on a journey exploring all the different methods trying to learn. ;-p

ya it has two 5 gallon buckets connected ...theres a 2 inch pvc between the 2,so the one on the right was res...one on left had net pot ..i assume both had air stones

Yea, I use a ring and it works well. Feed is a steady thing,(1200-1400 PPM) and I run mine constantly. What rig have you set up? Waterfarm?

In my experience, having spare buckets make the job a little easier. Just add water, nutes then pull the top of the spent res. and put it on the new one. If you need to change air stones, this is a good time. If you only have one spare, wash and use the used bucket for the next and so forth.

Good luck on your grow!

Sorry for slow reply guys .....

Jim...thanks u for the info. I have a Hydro flow regulated drip ring,

Rosey i thought of the spare bucket thing as a possibility also.

So just a lil more info im a tent grower.i have a 3x3 black out 70. and a * just got black out 160... i also have a big ass 9 ft dunno what brand one and a Grow lab cloning station.

I gotta go to a BBq but i appreciate all the info, Ill be back on later and ill post some pics ogf what i have grown

Morning guys .so once again i have a few questions.........do ya think a ebb/flow 2 gallon with 4 pots will do better than 2 5 gallon drip/bubble buckets.

yes.i know the theory more is usually better but they key is ..4 in 2 gallon pots.or 2 Bigger plants in 5 gallon pots. I have a zillion ideas and just trying to narrow it down. See i just got a 5x5 tent to replace my 3x3 so now i have more room......i was just gonna do a single bubble in my 3x3. Having the 5x5 im thinking 4 smaller or just 2 bigg ass ones.....or hell even one MONSTER!

depends on your light. if you have a cheap o 300 watt led, you aren't gonna grow 6 ft tall plants very well. the entire bottom of the plant will be fluff bud.

i would take dwc over ebb/flo for sure for growing efficiency.

Dont forget roof height. My last was up past the hood snaking around it. Redid entire set up to avoid hitting the top this time. They get up to that raptor this time, its over.. Had no space to LST or any other crafty thing to avoid hitting it. Made mad stretch on me over a few days.

I would do 2 max for the space. 3 is 2 and 2 is 1. So 2 is better then 1(always have back up) ;-)

Ok thanks again guys.ya i was leaning towards the 2 five gallon bubbles/bucket

Ill be running in a 5x5x 6.7( i think its 6.7 my black out 70 is ) black out 160 tent .......i was running a 600 way hops vented in my 3x3...i think im gonna go with a 100 w in the 5x5

Ok so in the pics we have the GG4 * top pic and Blue Magoo * 2nd pic ...
I also took a pic of my grow lap cloning station ( i actually started out in there with my 600 and a vented hood lol ) and the Taller tent is my 3x3 that i have budded out 6 plants so far.2 at a time in coco * roots original.

I have been using Flora series advanced drain to waste on all plants tilll now...the GG4 is grown using flora Series, But the Magoo im using the advanced line of Nectar For Th Gods.

I am also using SLF 100 and Terpinator on both plants.

Here is the Sour Diesel i did last run..3 gallon pots Flora Series no Terp or SLF .Yielded 1/4 p on one plant and 5 gram under a 1/4 on 2nd plant.

* OH and i have a 5x9 tent that im finishing that Magoo and GG4 under a 1000 in it now. As soon as they are done i take out shade divider and hook up other 1000w.
