Ahh rightio, makes more sense now, thanks for the explanation mate :)
Yeah you are right, it is more of a soil mix than compost, I haven't started to add food scraps etc as yet, will do once it's blocked off so mice can't get in.
Thanks for those tips too, have got some lucerne in the garage that I can put on, got plenty of leaves as its autumn here and will get some fish meal ASAP. I had an idea that it would be a rich mix, I was planning on using it on my vege garden and in small amounts for my ganja.
I tried googling CFE mate and nothing came up...is it like mad cow disease or something?

Hey organic peeps,
I'm looking to go organic for my near distant grows and am looking to find a complete organic soil recipe. I see all these recipes on here but am struggling to find the ingredients as I'm in Australia.
I'm hoping an Aussie organic grower can chime in and help me find what I need so I can mix up a batch and hopefully only have to use just water for the grow. Looking at some recipes, it looks hell expensive, is this always the case?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers, Easty

Cheers for all the comments guys, some really good info here.
So, so far I have my compost heap started ... Any suggestions on the above is most welcome?
I like it. Keep the compost pile separate from your soil fillers (peat, sphagnum, coir, and mineral supplements - the dolomite) until it finishes cooking and looks unrecognisable. I should have mentioned that my compost recipe needs twice weekly forking/turning in the first month and constant moisture monitoring to finish in 6 weeks - it will take many more months if left to its own devices. Regardless, the older the better if you can age your compost.

One tip I used to accelerate part of the pile was to chuck it in a big plastic barrel with a locking lid, cutting a length of drainage agpipe to fit inside, and rolling it around twice a week - this aerates the mix and accelerates the decomposition.

Also, ur main compost pile needs to be at 60-80cm high and 1 meter squared to trap enough heat and moisture for it to look after itself. I guess you already read up on carbon/nitrogen ratios for hot composting - gotta get in the right range. I cheated and chucked the blood and bone straight into the compost pile to speed things up and made up the bulk with the lucerne.

Ur mix sounds a lot like mine, but the horse shite is where its at!

@slaughterhouse product doubters: I aint no vegan and I aint worried about prions getting in my weed and surviving the incineration and infecting my brain ... its cheap and nasty nutes and easy to get.

Im going to get a batch of organic soil going. Ill just be using Canna Terra, Manure (cow and sheep), and worm castings I think. We dont have much of a range here in Aust.

Apart from the cheap crap from bunnings yeah not much...

Not hard to make a compost pile or two and a couple of cheap worm farms and make your own soil.

I have a good local hydro shop but prices still cant compete with online.

I bought tent and ballast + globe online and went local for the rest. Only running a 600w and a 125w fluro at the moment though.

Bought hundreds of hydro products off ebay over the years without any major issues...
