If your growing hydro your gonna wanna get at tds and ph tester. If you have weird growth on your roots you can try H2O2(hydrogen peroxide). If you get 3% at walmart or somewhere else use around 17ml per liter or water. You can use H2O2 with your nutes as long as your nutes arent organic. If you are using organic nutes just flush your system with H2O2 and water for a couple days and then start with your nutes again. But back to the first sentence. Your definetly gonna need to be avle to test you PH. With hydro there isnt much room for mistakes. Oh and PPM is parts per million. Its basically gonna tell you the amount of nutes in your water. With a PPM tester you can see what your plants are doing meaning how much they are taking in. You should check your ppm's daily and keep as journal of the readings. Also keep track of everything you put in your res from the amount of water to how many and what kind of nutes. This way if or better yet when you make a mistake(we all do) you can look in your journal and see where you went wrong. As for you PH you definetly wanna check that atleast once a day. PH can and normaly does go up(and sometimes down). If you PH goes up or down then your plants cant take in all the nutes that it needs.

right now im using the nutes that came with the bubbleponics. the grow is 10:5:14
it states that the nutes keep the ph straight. but i do check ph maybe not daily. its at 6.25-6.5. is that ok? what the proper mix for 6gallons. my plants are about 5-6 in.:wall:

tds tester I have is easy to use. Just make sure you calibrate before use unless its factory calibrated...but still good idea to do it yourself. Anyways you just take the tester and stick the probe into the res and wait till the number stops going up or down. You should adjust the ppm's as the plant continues to grow. Just increase by a hundred or two every couple weeks. Just keep track of you ppm's and the plant will let ya know. Say you have 400 ppms and in a night it goes down to 200 well then its time to up your nutes 1 or 2 hundred.
