New to growing

Ok so short and sweet, i plan on growing super lemon haze, inside of course. I have a small grow area and couldn't decide what my first plan should be. I'll start with what i have so for. I WILL be going the cfl route. I have 2 200 w 2700 and 1 200 w 5600 bulb. I know to keep them 2"- 4", no problem. I have coco coir, fox farm trio hydro, my ph test strips with up/down, as i will water by hand, and 6"x6" square pots. My question is I've read alot about 12/12 straight from seed as well as a full 12-14 week cycle with veg. What i am looking for is if i choose to go 12/12 small plants, how many can i grow under the 2 2700s and how many bigger ones i could grow. Not looking to sell just for me and the small circle so i don't want the "more" crap since i'm considering 12/12. Thank you and any suggestions or tips would be helpful as I've researched lots but am new and not anything close to the class of growers you guys are. Thank you.

Your CFL thoughts will work fine. Garden Knome wrote a bood on CFL use. Check out his CFL thread. One thing I learned was to get the CFL bulbs within 1 inch. That can be a little tricky depending on how easy it is to adjust the CFS's as the leaves get closer. They will burn the leaves if the CFL is under a leaf and an inch away as the heat goes up and cooks the leaf in 2 to 10 hours.

In answer to your question of time cycles. I had a shit pile of 4 inch clones that I only let veg for 2 weeks so I could grow a bunch of single cola plants. It would have worked much better if I had vegged them for at least 4 to 6 weeks. I came out with far less than I hoped for.

The bottom line is to get more yeild it helps to let them veg a while.

You may find you will only be able to grow enough to supply yourself for a while. If you ever go to a bigger size "think big" - I've had to enlarge my spaces 4 times till I got it big enough to have any excess.

Read up on flowering with CFL's - It can be done with good bud I'm pretty sure, but I've always gone HPS and saved a ton using CFL's for vegging and the mother room.

Grow Forth!

if you want to produce as much as possible youd have to split your area, have a mother and clone veg and a flower room where you could flower lots of small clones. look into SoG

See i read some people don't veg and think their plants only flower on 12/12 right away. Who am i to arugue. I'm here to learn. So sog is what i'd prefer. So would it be beneficial to veg for 4 weeks than flower, many plants. If so how many under what i have as they'll be about 24" id guess maybe abit taller.

I would choose to grow 2 autos under them lights ..

make a hood of some kind .. keep them 2700k on top of the plants and the 6500 in the middel ..

use any spare room etc. in the middle/behind em to start new seeds in small cups two weeks before haverst ..
so you can haverst evry 45 days or so .. hope to pull 1oz per plant ..

maybe some light LSTing and some experience/DWG/more lights (250W HPS) can make it 2 oz per plant in time ..

No way you can grow legally outside? Super Lemon Haze likes to grow big. It's like trying to grow a Christmas tree in a broom closet. I know a lot of people can't grow outside and that really sucks.

I'm just thinking, how much are you going to be spending on nutrients, lighting, electricity? If your pushing a few hundred only to get a few grams, is it really worth it? It's a great strain, don't get me wrong. I've grown it myself, but your gonna be doing all that work and fighting it's growth every step of the way.

Feminized Automatic Lemon Skunk would be easier if your after a lemon strain. You can start in a one gallon Smart Pot using a seed starting mix like Fox Farm Light Warrior, then in two to three weeks *before the soil reaches the edge of your container* switch to your main organic potting soil (I use Kellogg, but you can use Ocean Forest, Roots Organic, etc). Technically you want to avoid transplanting, but as long as you do it before the roots reach the edge you won't shock them. Its only when your ripping the roots during the transplant that you actually shock them.

Instead of Fox Farm or any other "nutrients" designed for Cannabis or hydroponic setups, go cheap and simple by getting a bag of Espoma or Kellogg fertilizer. Use it dry so it releases slowly as you water. You'll end up spending $8 on bag fertilizer that will last you a few years. With autos, the trick is to grow a lot and harvest every three months.

If you don't watch your money carefully, you'll end up spending more then what your weed is worth. I see people do this at the hydro stores all the time. Its like after they're done, it would have been cheaper to buy off the streets.

Anyway, I hope you find a way to make it work whether you take my advice or not. Best of luck to you. Happy growing!

Ok very confused. I bought greenhouse super lemon haze from attitude, and they say indica/ sativa, medium height, indoors and out and 8-14 weeks of flowering. So they say medium because hybrid with indica. You say no sativa tall plant? What am i missing cause im stuck with them now. Thank you very much with your concers. I do apriciate it.

No answers as to why attitude says i can grow super lemon haze indoors and roll it up members say i can not? Thanks for your time anyways.

You can grow it indoors. All they're saying is that the plant loves to get big and stretch which would make it more suited for outdoors. With limited space indoor you're going to have to train the plant.

Hey look for the thread where this cat used a baby gate - to keep babies from stairs and stuff - for a scrog! Was working great and would be cool for haze. I have a Super Silver Haze topped multiple times, then braided like a chicks hair and laid over under a 1000 HPS. 65" last time I measured.

The 2 indica dominant planted the same time will be ready in days or a week - no longer by daily scope and trichome check. The SSH? Dude it's going to be another month to 6 weeks easy. The strain you bought is great. Just saying don't be freaked if you hit the date they promised (basically) and you need weeks more. I'm the patient sort. My White Widow is next up for the braid and laid bit.

Those milk crates work good too. Turned upside down over a plant but you pretty much have to find them at garage sales. Or steal them from behind grocery stores but I wouldn't suggest that. PLEASE NOTE ON MILK CRATES: it is a violation of Federal for anyone to even have one except for the dairy whose name is on the thing. I can see it. "Grow house bust yields milk crate!"

And, son, the stuff to not do is usually far more important in everything in life. It's the stuff you get your ass kicked for. Either by a court or by somebody. Especially for staying alive yourself. Just saying.

If I'm right, Isnt the super lemon haze going to stink to high hell also? It has skunk gene's in it and I would say the height would be med/tall . What do you plan on doing to odor control?

Thank you for the reply, though i got the seeds knowing they take 8-14 weeks. Im prepared to wait, thouth i don't know about training i know toping, and that i believe fiming is better, but this is my first grow. Just looking for fingers in the right direction.

I would get ether a carbon filter with a fan, a ozone generator or something around that sort to clean the odor. You could do a screen of green like one of the last guys stated. You could also do LST but being it's a taller plant then a small/med you would have to keep on it. I would do a screen of green if it was up to me, but I tend to stay away from the taller plants and the stinky ones. just for these reasons.

Check out Paradise Seeds' Vertigo. I bought 10 seeds I'm germinating in Root Shooters directly right now. I read an article saying it was one of the 5 best autoflowers at present. Supposedly very potent. We will see.
