New To Growing

Hi boys, :blsmoke:
I need some help. Im living in a split house with a new little plant growing in my closet in my bathroom. Its doing well at an inch tall now. I have read most of your advice for the last couple of days and its helping. But I would like to know about how high my light should be from my plant right now? I only have one plant right now, and am waiting for two more to sprout. (I just got them from a friend 3 weeks ago.) Its in soil and doing great, Ive just been using tap water that has been sitting in a tub for a couple days. Its doing well on just that.
Ive smoked a lot of weed in my days, but have not really been intoon to what to do to grow it. Like how much do you normally get out of one plant? All the small details that you dont hear mentioned. If you boys have any advice for the best way to grow and the easiest. I work 12 hour shifts, so its hard to watch them more carefully. I just want it to be simple and easy. A girl can only do so much to take care of her babies.
If you boys can help me out I would really appreciate it. Being up here in Canada is preventing me from growing outside right now due to the cold. So its indoors for my babies!!!

Thanx!!!

im assuming your using florecent lighting , i would keep them acouple of inches away , the closer the better the stems will not have to stretch for light then , a ph tester might be a good investment for testing your tap water

I would keep the light as close as possible as long as heat isn't an issue. Put your hand to the top of the plant and if the light is too hot for you, then it is probably too hot for your little baby. Good luck on your 1st grow!

hi.. : ) u know when u have the plants on constant 18 of light on and 6 hours of lights off. Once u have the plants to the size u want them, u change the lighting schedule to 12 hours on and 12 hours off. that will induce the ur plants to flower

Vegetative state is from seedling until you change light cycle to 12/12 for flowering (budding).
Some veg in (light/dark) 24/24 or 18/6 or 20/4

Rule of thumb. 1/3 to 1/2 the height you want to finish at. They will double or triple in height during flowering. VV

Ok, Thanx!!!! So how long approximately does a full cycle go? From a seedling to ready to harvest. Does it depend on how long you grow it for and when you put it into its Vegetative state? Because once I have grown my first plant and its almost ready to harvest, I would like to start some more so when my supply runs out, I'll have more. This is moslty for my roomie and my own use and maybe another friend.

veg for about 4 to 5 weeks then switch to flower 7 to 12 week depending on the strain , if you can get an hps light for flowering your product will turn out much better . e bay

Thanx,
How do I have to have the light timing for when its flowering? I know its suposed to be 12/12 for its vegetative state. But what about for when its flowering? Im looking into getting a hps light when it does go into its flowering stage.

For flowering you need your light cycle on 12 hours and off 12 hours, for Vegetative growth on for 18 hours off for 6 hours, control them with a timer. If you're going to be using anything larger than a 250w HPS you'll need a contactor to plug your timer into otherwise youll risk burning out the timer contacts with the high startup voltage loads.

Also, don't forget about proper ventilation - it's critical you put in a ventilation system to exhaust out the hot air and bring fresh c02 rich cool air into the grow area - don't skimp on this, otherwise you're wasting your time.

Well I was just wondering baby, since you keep telling us over & over, that we need to veg for 8 weeks to reach sexual maturity prior to flowering, does that mean you only flower for 4 weeks? That's a neat strain you got there.

About 90 days on average, but it does depend on the flowering time it can be longer than that.
Say what, hire a contractor to plug in your timer and grow light.....this sounds like great advice, while your at it, call the fire dept for a safety inspection too? I've never heard of such rubbish.
