Hi guys! I'm new, just wanted to say hi. I've picked up a "600W" KingLED light plus a 34W for clones, a fairly popular air pump with 6 outlets, etc. Looking to get started soon! I've got sativa and indica strains to try...

avoid growing both at the same time,

Thanks for the info @vostok sadly I'd already started 4 of each in paper towels... but I could just leave the sativa plants in longer at the end right?
Yes DWC I have buckets I picked up cheap - I'll have to check their size but I'd guess 10-15L?
The plan was 6 plants based on the air pump, so I started as I say 4 of each strain (they aren't feminized seeds). All but one sprouted (I'll check it again tomorrow) so I've planted them and setup a temporary nursery with the smaller 36W light until I can hang the larger one in the next days.

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!
The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.
It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. And remember anyone may have a well-known member status…but that means they have posted and responded to many threads and does not always mean well-educated growerz. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!
Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…
Soaking up all that information and sifting through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.
I see you have all your seedlings grouped together so they can get a fair share of the light being provided...just wondering what you are gonna do when they are in veg and through flower?

I see you are planning to hang the other one in a few days....when all those seedlings start needing more light...you are going to have 'footprint' issues. In other words...not enough light. All light has limitations...especially true with cfl and LED lighting. I am NOT saying LED does not work...because it works amazingly well as does cfl in a lot of cases. But, in your situation and with that many plants you are going to need more light...IMHO

For just 6 plants? If you're right that's too bad but worst-case I can always get another of the 600W (edit: or a couple more of the 36W maybe)... I just didn't want to go overboard too early when I'm not even truly set up or experienced yet.

Sorry boss...don't mean to piss on your parade or nuttin'...you obviously have a desire to cultivate medicine. And I am sure you can and will be successful.
Again, IMHO, that much light could do justice to 1 plant very well...2 plants acceptably well...and 3 so-so.
But PLEASE do not just take my word for it...get others opinions. There is an entire forum here for LED growerz...post your situation in there and see what kind of feedback you get. Good Luck to you.

No it's cool this is the kind of thing I need to hear earlier rather than later. I can look into a light mover or picking up another 600W in the future if things don't go very well. So far I'm just looking to make sure I can end up with a few decent mothers and no males...
