Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce myself as Kushmaster. I know there might be others, but this is how I've decided to be known here OBVIOUSLY. That being said, let's get this show on the road. I got my stealth grow cabinet a few years back from a highly rated and very reliable company, Supercloset. I'll start out by saying that they don't EXACTLY tell you what you need to know, but as you all have come to find out.... it's better to find these things out on your own. So, I received my SuperBox CFL hydro/aeroponics and began my new journey to not paying for local trash (which, come to find out, you don't know is trash until you ACTUALLY grow yourself....unless of course you are a weed snob in a very privileged area). Here we go:::::
1st Grow:
I decided that since I had 6 net pots in my 2.5-3 gallon reservoir, that of course, I needed to fill them all (noob move!!!!) This is where I learned that males show themselves CONSIDERABLY FASTER than females, clipping the little bastard out. I had actually only gotten 5 to pop so that left me with 4. This is also where is learned about spacing between where the plant ends (vertically) and the actual grow light itself. 12-20 inches is ideal dependent on the strain, your setup, how powerful the light is, and what stage you are in.( Now before I continue, I will let you know that NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY taught me any of this. I sought this information for myself because I'm drawn to this as a passion.) The 300w CFL provided by the Supercloset company seemed to have a positive effect on my plants......as long as I left my door opened, had an extra fan, and ran lights on at night when the temperature was cooler. But I didn't figure all that out AFTER this grow turned out. I read up on alot of LST/Pinching and pruning as you go along as well.
LESSONS LEARNED:
They all were too tall out of the ground, I had too many plants for the size of my reservoir, my light was too hot(sometimes over 90°) with my door shut and locked. Thus the 4 plants hermed. I clipped too many essential fan leaves I was unaware were important.
END RESULT: I figured out my nute ratios and that DISTILLED WATER is the ONLY water anyone should use when adding to your reservoir. I also learned that airstones are important in keeping root rot away, the more air in the water/the less rot(temperature also plays a key role as well). I learned about HYDROGUARD and HIGHLY recommend it if you experience any problems with rot, as it is organic and also breaks down extra nutes into something the plant can use. Aside from the make I clipped, all 4 of these hermed out. I harvested some at the wrong time, I over clipped. The list goes on and on. The yields were something like this: 3.5g, 7g, 12g, and 20g. The amount of time was...(so embarrassing).....was about 5 months. But hey! You gotta start somewhere I guess.
Here are the pics from this grow, I take criticism well so don't be afraid to chime in. ALSO!!!! This is not the only grow I am posting, so please view the others first before trying to explain something to me that I have already figured out. To put this in perspective, I've been doing it for a few years since this crop. I've just been waiting for my moment to shine. Stay tuned for my 2nd grow to be posted.
