I recommend scrolling through the thread again...she did delete some of my comments. So dramatic. ..opinions are supposed to be expressed. .not personal attacks. ..general sassy comments are part of the game...
I hope you don't take my disagreement personally, because that isn't the way it was meant to come off. I don't know you, rather not start off on a bad foot.

Hope ur having a great day. I also didn't mean to offend anyone, if you felt that way I do apologize.

Even so. If you have water hash made from the same material in the same environment I think the water hash will always oxidize faster than the dry sift. In your first post you stated that dry sift will oxidize 10 degrees f lower than water hash. There is no reason a dry sift should oxidize faster than a water hash under the same conditions. I can't understand how dry sift oxidizes faster when it's already DRY and never came in contact with water, yet the bubble is obviously wet and surrounded in water at one point. Remember, water is part of the oxidation equation.

Dry sift is always dry.

Water hash is soaking wet.

We all already know that water and humidity and heat are the enemy. We all already know cold and dry is best you keep stating obvious points that are kind of irrelevant to the question.

This also makes no sense at all. If it's too dry when froze it wont' grate into beach sand well so you let it dry some before you freeze/grate.

HUH?
It makes perfect sense. You are just over thinking it. You have to take into account the soluble and volitile terpenes that make bubble greasy.
Just try it and you will see. If it's too dry it will clump up when you try to grate when freezing it.You need the right amount of moisture to freezing it and grate into beach sand.

Obviously you haven't microplaned / grated your bubble before.

If you are in a cold room no oxidizing will take place at all

I f you are in a warmer room it will happen. Dry sift is exposed to the air the whole time. If the air is warmer a wine cooler fridge is a must to keep the bubble cold. Going from bags to fridge the bubble doesn't get exposed to warm air really. If the room is cold it isn't an issue. It's so easy to grasp.

If you make bubble or dry sift, do it in a cold room. That's it. If you make sift in a warm room or make and dry bubble in a warm room it will oxidize.

I'm just saying you can get away with a warmer room during the wash because the bubble is submerged in 40 degrees and not exposed to air. But when drying the bubble it as to be in a cold environment otherwise it will oxidize. Again very simple to grasp.

Heat and humidity are the enemy so never expose it higher temps. It's. Very simple.

Wow so me putting couple of drops of water in my dry sift and throwing it in the micro wave to get it warm then pressing it after neading it a bit is the wrong way to make black hash lol. Tell that to my buddies who are always amazed. So much science so little difference IMO. And I gotta agree that BHO typically is not as pure as most would think, i make my own using a few hot water baths and vacume pump, stirring in between and still wonder what I have left in there due to impurities in the butane not necesarily butane. Do I concern myself with it? No not really lol. I just love the stuff so much lol. I would love to make some super critical CO2 oil but just cant be bothered making the vessel. And so much negativity in this thread lol.

Ya didnt turn out how I wanted it to but happy for the discussion nonetheless. I havnt made any concentrates before. I was going to make some water hash or whatever but I dont have bubble bags, what difference does that make?

you should look at the contributors thread where I have done washes on co2 oil for shops.... it isn't pretty...

Bho or kief. My opinion personally. But you have to know where it comes from, most people saying butane soup, well not if its done properly. No snaps no krackles and no pops. And shouldn't be very dark in colour either. The darker it is the worse it is. It darkens when its exposed to to high of a heat, burns off terpines, kills flavor, no good.

Anyone left hating on bho doesn't realize the science that goes into making it or has never truly had properly purged bho. I swear by bho. But every buddy has their own opinion. There's no need to argue or try to say anyone's stupid for preferring a certain method of type of concentrate. When they are done right, they all have similar effects and tastes.

But could there not be impurities in the butane itself that does not evaporate off even under a vacume? Really are we not just relying on the butane manufacturer to produce a pure product?

BINGO! manufacturer impurities. they call it mystery oil. I believe there is also reported to be heavy metal residuals in some dirty tane as well. Not something I'm interested in smoking personally.

I have a bunch of trim in the freezer but dont want to waste it. I dont have any bags or anything special. Ive seen a few videos on making ice hash in a container and stirring it a bunch and syphoning the water at the top after it settles. Does that work legit?

Easy answer no lol. If you dont want to make bubble, iso, or BHO (easy peasy)then just get a sheet of silk screen and make dry sift by hand rubbing it. I have a drum himidifier with silkscreen on the drum, it works pretty good but takes a bit, kinda like rock polishing lol.
