I am a fairly experienced grower when it comes to soil, but this is my first time in Dwc. Its been great so far until this morning I noticed these issues popped up on 2 of my 3 plants in dwc. I think it may be an mg deficiency but am not too sure and would like some feedback. In my dwc I keep my ph fluctuating from 5.5 to 6.5 for best nute absorption and my ppms around 500 to 700. These are white widow plant by the way. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!20180901_094029.jpg 20180901_094024.jpg 20180901_094029.jpg 20180901_094024.jpg 20180901_093923.jpg 20180901_094102.jpg

Are you using both A, B parts of Heavy?
What is the warmest temp you think the grow space gets too when the lights are on, and how long a period does it stay that warm?
You have some leaf curl that can indicate air temp to warm also with distinct brown patchiness which also tends to indicate air temp too warm. You're using an MH and purple LED, correct? If you have warm lights on during the heat of the day and this is early September, your temps might be too warm.
If the fert is of good quality, you probably don't have a nutrient issue. Looks like they've grown pretty good so far. I suspect that 5.5 might be too low as I think 5.8 or 5.9 when nutrients are fresh is better. pH will drift upward as ppm goes down as it's the ppm value (the nutrients) that really drive the pH value. People seem to think it's the other way around but that's not the case. You can can't force plants to do better by altering pH. You have to get the nutrients right and pH will take care of itself. A good idea is to read info on the container, on the web about the ferts, or contact the company directly for advice on ideal ppm levels and how to handle the pH issue.

Yes I am using both a and b. I have the full line of heavy 16 but only using the veg a and b right now due to this being my first time trying dwc. My room usually tops at around 78 degrees Fahrenheit for about 6hrs in the middle of the day. You are correct I use a 1000w MH set at 600w and a kind LED k5 750. I actually just bumped up my 1000w MH from 600w to 750w a week ago so that is probably making it even warmer and causing the heat issue you mentioned. Wouldnt have thought it would be an issue because my last grow didnt have any heat issues in the same conditions, but that was a different strain(Blueberry Diesel). And I have heard that my current strain white widow can be very picky about growing conditions and just difficult in general. Thanks for the response buddy, your advise is greatly appreciated!

It could be that while the air temp is okay, the light hitting the leaves is making them too warm, especially if the light is pretty close.

There you are talking about ph again! lol. You sure talk about it alot for someone who says its not important and has no relevance in growing, and you can't comprehend why anyone checks it LOL.

Blitz, you're clearly not understanding what I write. I thought you were going to stop responding. You must be addicted this, huh?
You have to understand everything that's written and avoid using info out of context.

Really looks like toxic salts buildup to me coupled maybe with heat issues.

Low RH makes that happen faster so lower ppms are better. Tap water? Salts in it contribute to it too. All minerals in tap water are in the form of salts.

Most of what I've read about Heavy 16 since they appeared a few years ago hasn't been inspiring. Basically GH nutes with a different name. Lots of those around.

Could be a hint of low P there too so maybe add a bit of the Bloom part that has the most of that.

Good luck!
