New to carbon filters

i have plenty of room to run a duct into a massive backyard and plenty of budget to create negative pressure through it with an ozone generator. gonna have to investigate though.

i kinda thought a big ass carbon filter would do the trick here. guess i have to revise plans a bit.

Uncle Buck, if you went this long with nothing, a big carbon filter will be a big help and should suffice.

In the winter, when lights go out, you'll need to watch that under such day night fan speed control, your negative pressure doesn't drop below acceptable odor control levels.

In this case one can see the benefit of a recirculating scrubber to take the edge off the room when negative pressure need be reduced for temperature control reasons.

Yes. And a heater, so it HAS to ventilate more. I would imagine that being necessary to combat humidity build up also.
Too bad dehu's don't work in the cold huh?

When I build/design a new room these days, in climates where it gets hotter than snot, I usually design it to run both fresh air ventilated, And sealed w/co2.
I/we run sealed during summer/hotter months( with dampers on intake and exhaust ducting of course) and then run ventilated during cooler months. IMO, if you can run ventilated, do it! Sealed systems cost a lot more in power, then ventilated. I would rather run more lights, than ac
I think sealed w/co2 is only a fraction better. Might be worlds better to someone who built their fresh air ventilated grow room all fucked up. But I'm willing to bet you aren't one of those people
And dammit how I envy you people growing in cooler and colder climates. And I especially envy you guys who's power company doesn't fuck you up your ass(as bad)like here in CA!

I'm getting the feeling that california electric companies are charging what ever they want to. power has never been this expensive as it has been in the last 2 years.

for Bucks room, a can 150 in the air and a can light 100 on the floor for scrubbing is all thats needed.

so i've been looking into ozone and good ways to create a run and they all come up wanting. and i don't want to fuck with ozone.

the garage i'll be setting up in has a sealed off stairwell area leading down into it. i'm gonna use that stairwell.

gonna go with the original idea of the biggest carbon filter i can find on the grow room itself exhausting into the garage, with the addition of another fan/filter combo exhausting the air out of the garage into the stairwell, and possibly even a third carbon filter exhausting the stairwell out into the backyard.

that should be a nice improvement from letting my stink roam freely about the entire block.

and of course there will be the carbon filter in the trimming/drying room.

I haven't used ozone generators since charcoal filters came out
I'm not going to pretend that O3 gens don't still have a purpose, but I feel that counting on
charcoal filtration is 1,000,000 times better than counting on the O3+pine-sol, and then ONA came out, so + ONA
We have it so good these days

This sounds a little retarded. But a company named California scents makes these little tuna can air fresheners made for cars. They are really cheap and last for about 3 weeks. Well the can comes with three of these little sponges. I put them on everything. I use them on my front door, in all my fans, on top of my hoods and on the outside of my carbon filter. They work great at masking the smell. A lot cheaper then ona and i believe they last longer and smell a 100 times better. Sorry but i don't want my buds smelling like fresh linen or polar Crystals..

The California scents make cherry, bubblegum and citrus scents. I personally like the cherry, my whole house smells like cherries right now I'm not even using a carbon filter and the house doesn't smell like pot at all, just cherries. And i do have a large grow in 3 weeks into Flower.

The more air you exhaust out of room, the larger AC you're gonna need to maintain room temps.
