Current System
Room size:12ft X 5ft X 7ft LWH
1 - 400W MH
1 - 400W HPS
1 - 6 Pot rubber maid container
3 X 12" Air stones per container
10 - 5 - 14
(This is a trial run, looking for a larger project found below)


The Vision
For the veg room:
1 - 400W MH
1 - 400W HPS
6 X 6 pot rubber maid containers
2 X 12" air stone per container

For the flower room:
2 X 1000w HPS



I notice the dwc system is very loud, I read ppl hanging their air pumps with wire........and ideas?

Loud?? Not at all you can hear the air pumps but its not that loud. No carbon scrubber ? No Fan to cool your light?

Ya, the air pump is soooo load, I have my unit in the second level of my shop, believe it or not; you can hear the one pump (for now) from the outside of the building, its a standard pump from a pet store and with the combination of the air stones aswell its rather load. For now, I have a radio going 24/7 to cover it up..........for now....

The fans will be up and running during flowering.

Fans for lights - The temp is dropping where I am so its perfect as is.

I have even thought of building some sort of egg carten floor........just a thought....

Rope works really well also rubber underneath can be effective if your air pump stays in place

you can try to hang your pump from bungie cords, makes em real quiet.

I just attach them to my buckets

you can also use an old cooler to house the air pump that will help a bit with the noise,you may want to cosider a differant pump I have 2 large air pumps running and there's more noise from the buckets than the pumps,I wrapped my buckets in insulation and it cut down on the noise a bit.noise draws attention so I would get that taken care of asap. good luck

Update -

I have the Ballast hanging...
I have the Water pump hanging...
I have the Air stones in two bins suspended within, so they are not sitting on the ground.

This has solved any and all noise issues.

I look forward to putting up some pics soon....Things are really coming together.
