You can't imagine it being anything else, therefore it must be how you explained it. This is not a logical argument.
Until we have actual data, neither of us knows. Right now, some of the greatest minds believe that space and time don't exist outside of the universe.
You're making a comparison between the boundaries of the universe, and the boundaries of a physical thing, e.g. a batch tub. Can you demonstrate that they behave the same?.it has to keep traveling out for that to happen there has to be something out there to travel into otherwise it is like a bath tub u make that ripple it goes out hits the wall and bounces back countering the ripples ending in nothing everything being canceled out
