New Sub-forum Suggestion

I have been working on a Fogponics system and would like a forum for those who are using a viable fogponics system today and for those who are interested in getting started. There are many benefits of fogponics over DWC or other traditional hydroponic systems, there are some technical challenges as well. However since necessity is the mother of all inventions and because there is always a need to grow better, faster and use less nutrients, a viable fogponic systems is where growing is heading.

In a sense, correct me if I am wrong here, (boy what am I asking for), think about this for a moment fogponics is a form of a DWC system for the entire root system and even foliage feeding as well if done correctly. For the entire root system is submersed in water, just happens that the water is in highly aerated form which an be measured at a 3 to 5 microns, yet the roots are essentially submerged into an aerated water solution (DWC).

Nonetheless it would be nice to a have a sub-forum for the discussion how to build and use a fogponic system.

WOW 61 views and I can't get a second on this request?

BUMMER! Maybe this community isn't ready for fogponics... :-?

I'll note your request and pass it on the next time we expand forums.
Thanks Heisenberg,

I've found a few threads here and there scattered throughout this site pertaining to fogponics. So it would be nice to have a collective forum for fogponics.

I know a lot of folks have their doubts that fogging alone can be taken into flowering with equal or better results then what can be done with a typical DWC system.

I promise though, given a forum to post fogponics too, pictures and results will come for those to compare and analyze.

i think it would be great to start a sub forum on this. i have been trying fogponics for a couple months now and would love some feed back on it. i just started to run into some trouble with browing root tips think it might be to much fog but could really use some info

How does it work?
it's about taking your nute solution from a fine spray in aeroponics to a mist or fog and saturating the root mass with it. One of the challenges is the physical arrangement of the fog and the plants root zone. Where fogging work great in cloning, roots don't have a chance to get into the fogger to muck things up they are quickly transplanted to another system.

Most designs for taking a plant through flowering have the fogger in the solution in a control bucket with fans to push the fog into pvc joined sealed containers where plants roots hang from a net pot that is sealed at top around plant stem to keep fog in the container where the roots are.

That would be a pure form roots suspended in the air surrounded by a nutrient fog mist not socking in water like a DWC or reaching the reservoir bottom of a aeroponic system.

I am working when time permits on a single system design as a hobby for I like the challenge, once I think I have something viable in single system design I will share more and do a side by side grow with my passive hydro + super soil method.
