New style Samsung LM561C Board

According to Samsung website and calculator the max drive current for lm301b is 200ma, the same as lm561c.
The max drive current for lm561b+ is 180ma - this is the main reason I am pissed at Alibaba vendors who use these and tell you they are 561c because of the different max currents.
That is the theory... it might be challenging doing the cooling to achieve these numbers.

Not sure what you are looking at but this is straight from the LM301B Rev 1.0 data sheet dated 2017.6.26 on the Samsung website:

I believe your using an older pdf. The one I'm getting my stats off of is Rev 2.3 dated 2017.12.02.

In what sense? My q strips are driving each diode at 180ma currently and they are attached to 1" u channel and stays relatively warm, my temp gun read around 32 degrees celcius.

I just order two qb304 boards with and hlg240h 2100b from China through alibaba, hope they aren’t fake, ordered my cobs the same way and they were legit

I wouldn't use that older tech. Look at newer strips like f series.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I am actually in Canada and just looking for models which are 1 foot with a decent spectrum currently in stock. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Ahh yes; it has been very difficult trying to obtain some of the 3rd Generation F Series over my way. I am using a 2x2x4 so I am feeling a little bit skeptical about anything over 500mm but I am also open to suggestions seeing as this would be my first project.

potentiometers arrived today, ten of them (apparently its best to check with a multimeter to see which one is 'best')

I'm a multimeter newbie (only bought it cos i was getting the QB!), but seem to be reading it ok ... I have the red wire going into the "VΩ" socket, and the dial on "Ω" (@ 200K) ... all the way to the left = 0.0, and all the way to the right = between 91.5 to 105.2 depending on which pot. I'm not sure what reading would be ideal for this QB ... 100? 105.2?

Anyway are these potentiometers ("B100K") suitable for the QB? i have 2 x QB-304's powered by one Meanwell HLG-240H-C105A
Thankyou for helping me learn and understand!

yep i was conscientious to get linear pots! Any idea which one I should use? the low 91.5 one? one around 100? or the highest (105.2)?

whoa, I nearly forgot about the resistor ... have already blown an LED on the breadboard by not using them lol

Anyway ive got 10 pots to play with so i won't mind losing a couple on the breadboard to try to get my head around it!

regarding the potentiometer and resistor, I just threw this image together as this is what i'm guessing i need to do ...

Does it look right??? (and does it matter whether the resistor is on Dim+ or the Dim- line?)

ps. currently im running it with both Dim wires exposed, ie @ 100%, and obviously that's without a resistor ..... do we only need the resistor simply to prevent the LEDs being turned down too LOW? (what would happen if i just ran it with a pot but no resistor?)
