New strain: Can you tell on day 15 of flowering if the strain is a good yielder?

I hope you're right, bc I have many different strains and although my memory is shot this doesn't look like a good yielder bc the buds look like they are stacking, but they are not many white hairs. IDK... The kid I got them from runs like a good dispensary and is on the ball and I told him to give me above avg yielders.

There are other factors to consider - your grow environment for it.

I'm just saying in general. My plants are very healthy looking, Ive been growing DWC for 10 years almost... Just wondering if by day 15 of flowering if you can tell you have a below avg yielder or a great yielder.... I top and scrog btw

Difficult to gauge after only 15 days in flower. Most strains are still stretching.

No. Around week 4 or 5 you will have a better idea as all the flower sites will have formed, around week 6 or 7 you should be able to feel how dense the buds will be and have a better idea. But they will still have to swell a bit. A large portion of you finished wieght is put on in the last 2 weeks of flower so you really cant estimate a yeild until the last week of flower

size of flower means nothing, stacking means nothing. its very difficult to predict yield without being able to judge flower density. ive had plants look absolutely gigantic vs another plant that the flowers were tiny sparse didnt look huge but very heavy like rocks. guess which one was the better yield after drying? it wasnt the gigantic one its buds were huge but didnt have much density.

Yes and no. 15 days is too soon. I have 3 autos growing in the same tote. And you can tell the strain that has more sativa in it. She’s also moving much slower. These long skinnier colas. And this is with a pretty perfect environment. I think I’m in week 4-5 of flower and now she’s starting to fill out. You can see the plants on the left. Those are the longest. Same exact growing environment. Same exact nutrition.

Op: you can and should try to draw conclusions based on your experience; but also be aware of how uncertain they may be since this a new strain for you. Week 4-5 is a better place to make conclusions but the main push seems to be in the final swell usually; its very hard to see what final swell may be like in start of week 3

Yes and no. Some people may be able to tell by like if you have a ten pack of seeds and the one that grows the tallest the fastest and has more bud sites or if the company says it is a heavy yielder and you know you have a solid cut or seed of it. And then the no side is like some strains look like Charlie Brown Christmas trees until the last few weeks then pack on the weight and looks.
You would basically have to know the strain. I have had plants that looked like a quarter ounce and had an ounce. Plants that look like a QP but so fluffy it's an ounce lol. A plant that I thought looked like two ounces was 5 because how solid the buds were.

Those fluffy qps that are ozs and they always look soooooo good. Straight to hash and rosin now.

Like we said you really can’t tell and didn’t realize your soil so it’s way slower. She looks like a fat bushy girl. That you grew perfect. Not stretched. I can’t remember if you said auto. I’m new with them. I’m used to photos 2-3x in size through flower. I ran a Memphisto limited strawberthehut (it’s on the full menu now) again hydro but this thing was flowering in 2.5weeks didn’t really 2-3xs in size. I had to chop at week 7 but was showing amber. Definitely a true 8-9week strain. The autos in the pic I posted didn’t flower till week 6, 3 different strains and breeders. Week 10 in flower barely any amber in one the others coated
Advice moving forward. Looks like you topped. Lst is your friend lol. I personally stress the shit out of my plants slowly. Top 2-3xs. Lst, super crop, and fit some too lol. I use the whole plant so I need the bad appeal and the popcorn

Crop yield is proportional to light the plant receives. Light is the only way that cannabis can generate food which is directly tied to growth. More light ≈ more weed.
I created this table based on the paper that's cited. As PPFD increased, dry weight yield increased by the percentage shown. You can find the paper by searching on the title.

First step is to feed your plants more (light).
Growers lose more crop yield by not giving their plants more light than they do by giving their plants too much light. For one, it's really hard to muck up a plant with an LED. Sure, you can do it but LED's don't harm plants with excess heat the way HPS does. On the other hand, very few growers get their cannabis plants to the "light saturation point" for cannabis which is, in general terms, 800-1000µmol.
That's unfortunate because, looking at the chart, a grow at 900µmol will yield almost 20% more than a grow at 700. Sure, you'll still get a nice crop at 700 but be quite happy get, say, almost 8oz of herb instead of 6'ish just by turning up the dimmer.
