sweet cab i got at the home depot,
running 4 axial fans

400watt hps w/ built in ballast

its a little tight for all 4 of the plants i have at the moment but as some finish more room will open up.

temp is running at about 80 with the exhaust fans at 1/4 power as i have them hooked up to the same 12 volt power supply, i'm working on at least getting them up to 1/2 efficiency. which should get me down to about 77.

only one intake fan is running(as they are not super necessarily for a 400)

the cabinet cost 139 dollars at home depot it has bifolding doors which really help alot for being able to get to everything. i used a 1/4" drill bit and 2" machine bolts to mount the axial fans(20 bucks a piece normally i got 4 for 15 on ebay though, sheer luck)

and i also reinforced the ceiling to be able to hold my light as it has an enclosed ballast and weighs like 35 lbs with a piece of plywood and 1 1/4" machine bolts.

and coated the inside in panda film
and set up the fan.

then in the cover of darkness (and the flashing green light on my network card) as to not disturb the night cycle of my plants i moved them from the refrigerator boxes i had them hiding into their new home.

as i said its a tight fit for my 2 big plants and 2 little clones but it will be great for a small sea of green or 3-4 medium sized plants
so after this harvest things should clear up and i'll have it at optimum efficiency.(after next harvest im thinking of adding another one of these cabs to the front of it to make it 20 inches wider to accomodate more space, but we will see how it goes.

Good deal. Sounds like everything should go smoothly. Did I understand you correctly, you have the ballast mounted inside the cab? That thing doesn't get hot?

I think he said the ballast was attached right to the light by the manufacturer. It wouldn't be my first choice either. A remote ballst would certainly help with temps.

ya im looking into grabbing a 600 watt after this harvest with a remote ballast (maybe even digital) i got this light for cheap after my last 400 ballast shit the bed. 150 bucks after shipping for a 400 watt w/built in ballast and a hortilux bulb that had only been used once.

so it was a good deal but ya a new light would be quite sick and probably would bring my temps down around 70 in there
