New Room Sterilization Help

Hey guys im moving to a new spot so im going to be setting up a flower room I was wondering if theres any pesticides you guys recommend I buy before I need it, like for example ive never had spider mites but im going to buy azamax so in case i find them one day i can hop right on the problem, is there anything you guys think i should have on hand just in case??

also i was curious how i should clean the room before i put plants in it? should i scrub it all down with chlorine then run a uv generator and use a doktor doom fogger on the room as a preventative measure? Or could that be counter productive by making bugs immune to the pesticides?

any help is appreciated, thanks!

Bleach. Be real careful with chlorine especially in an enclosed area. You could kill yourself. I have owned pools and I know how nasty chlorine is. Bleach is chlorine's little brother and it is toxic enough.

"Ain't no" bugs gonna become immune to bleach or chlorine.

What is the floor made out of and the walls? Somebody on a web site mentioned a cheap ozone generators. Again be really careful with those too. Some guys will also mention Hot Shot bug strips at lowes. Be careful because you can poison yourself. Not a good idea.

Yellow stick strips. Do a google search. This may be an old wives tale but mites and aphids love yellow. Some guy posted the colors for spray paint for yellow. Cut plastic or metal strips, paint them yellow. Put something sticky on them like vasealine. I tested a yellow bowl with soapy water but did not give it enough time.

Have your weapons on hand just in case. Check your plants daily. Mites start at the bottom and work themselves up. They like heat and low humidity. The little shits often turn up a week before you are ready to harvest. Be ready to harvest early.

Doktor Doom is okay and you can get it for about $9.00. The CR Pyrethium is about $22 for the same size can but it is 4 times stronger.

Something I have and have tested is SNS 209. It is essentially Rosemary oil. About $23 will make 60 gallons. The idea is you start watering with it and by the 5th watering (2.5 days later) the plants have rosemeric acid in them. The mites or aphid bite down and do not like it. They starve or leave. Bayer does something similar for palm trees with white flies and that works.

Do a web search for CaliClean aka Pepper Spray with hambenero(a) peppers. You can buy them cheap at the grocery store. You simmer them in water and make a spray that you can put in a sprayer bottle for later. Do a search for recipe and instructions. The old times from cali swear by it. You may need to wear gloves.

Have all these tools in waiting so in case something happens you can swing into action.

I use bleach like mentioned above ...azamax is great it's my go to for mites .....but also remember this azamax can be used as well as neem as a preventative measure you don't have to wait for bugs to use azamax or beam ......I love prevention it's worth it ......and if I see bugs my go to is azamax with some neem and a drop of dawn dish soap ....good luck

thanks for the response man but yes im going to use to hot shot strips and already have the yellow sticky traps but one room is hardwood but im going to make a room inside it with panda plastic flooring or if i use my bigger room thats rug im going to put rubber gym mats across the whole floor and seal the floor with panda plastic but i figured the ozone could take care of anything in the air. so youre saying the sns209 and caliclean are 2 products i should keep on standby incase i notice a random infestation? and i have read quite a few bad reviews on the doktor doom, im not really worried about the price of cr prethium if its worth it... you think it would be good to hit the room with that one time after i use the bleach and ozone?

thank you for responding! and yeah ive read alot of people use the neem with soap. so you think its a good idea to keep all vegging plants sprayed as well as flowering plants (up to a certain point)? like how often do you spray them and would you spray a room down with azamax as a preventative or is that just a waste?

I wouldn't spray the room just your plants ...cause that's what the bugs are after ....clean the room good with bleach ....and I spray my girls with no bugs showing with aza then il wait until I get some new growth established enough to where I know there's no aza on the new growth ...then il spray again as a prevention il mistt em good every two weeks give or take .....if I see signs of bugs il hit it every 7 days ....alternating between straight aza and a aza neem mix .....but I've been lucky doing preventative spraying .....it's worth it .....I have a recipe written down that I do personally if you want it just PM me and il share my mixes with you .....havnt had any ill effects on several different strains ....

Been through too many mite fights over the years. Seemed like every summer without fail those nasty little fucker would find sanctuary in my room. Did bombs, sprays, feeds etc. Some worked some didn't.

Now I just make sure I have a couple thousand ladybugs in my room at all times. Best prevention I tried so far and much easier then buying all kinds of products and rotating uses. Plus mites don't build up immunities to ladybugs.
