New room / need new ideas

Hello Rollituppers! I’ve got a room that id like to “ upgrade “. I’m not sure what facts I need to put out there, but I’ll give it a try; I figure I can’t give TOO much information.
My room is 16X7 with 10’ ceilings. I currently have two Nextlight Megas in the room and it is difficult keeping the temps down sometimes even though it’s AC’ed . I also have a 3/4” pipe that was roughed in ( floor ) for dehumidifier condensate. I just ran a hose out of the dehumidifier and into the pipe ( saves a ton of work ) and that pipe goes outside.
I currently grow in coco but I was thinking of going hydro. Reason is , I’m not getting any younger and carrying a five gallon bucket from the well to the room is quite taxing some days. Then , I have to carry the runoff back out. Correct me if I’m wrong but if I put a hydro system that will help with the humidifier running so much thus reducing the heat ? I guess I could fish a pipe in the wall but I really didn’t want to get into that much of a project. With the hydro I assume I’d change the water every week or so ? With that said I could run a hose through the house once a week and pump out the old through the pipe in the floor . My thoughts were to have either plants ( four under each light ). Am I correct to say that hydro systems also reduce pests ? As far as a budget , I don’t mind spending the money as long as I get a return. Thanks In advance !

Are you planning on adding any more light? You gonna use the full 16x7 ? Any budget limitations? Plant count limitations?

depending what kind of hydro system u wanna use you could benefit from less evaporation from your media but how much would depend what u had in mind, a sealed up dwc or aero system might not loose much water at all but a top drip pots scenario might loose a lot.

Do you use co2? If not Mebys think about getting a decent exhaust system to control temps, or upsizing the ac and supplementing co2.

I’m about to build my first big room with an area not too dissimilar to yours so you have my attention lol.

I think for now I’m not going to exceed eight plants. As far as the lights , I just assume each light covers around 5X5 so I’d guess I have a 5X10 footprint ? I tried running C02 and it seemed like I was going through so much. I need to revisit that. I was looking at an “ Aircube” system. Seems pretty simple.

Ok that’s cool then, that means you could put a 5x10 tent in there a foot away from 3 walls and have a 6 foot work space, maybe another tent for veg or mothers or whatever ? I haven’t seen the air cube system I’ll have a look now

I’ve just had a look there mate, looks like a nice system, I especially like that the airpots are covered by the bucket so you won’t loose moisture out the sides, it also looks like the tops of the pots may be covered too so if they are then that will also help on that front.

it’s worth noting that plants use around 90% of the water consumed just in transpiration, this maintains the leaf temperature.
This transpiration is also something that can be controlled as different levels are beneficial at different times of the cycle, you’ve probably heard people talking about vpd lately, well that’s what that’s all about.

So just by altering the temp in the room we can dramatically change how much water the plant actually transpires into the room.
