set up is three t12 6500k daylight bulbs. white walls, fan for circulation. these plants are about three weeks old. just wanted to know some general info on them. what kind are they, sativa or indica? and do they look alright and any suggestions on how to make them better. the soil is miracle grow soil and i water them about three times a day and i split about a cup and a half of water between them is that good or what? also, in picture 241 the plant has a yellow lining on one of the leaves and a couple of little spots on the other? but it's still growing consistently. any ideas on that and the little single plant in 242 seems to have stopping growing or it is staying very small. what is with that if anyone knows? well hit me back with the advice

Top them at three nodes, and don't ask me what that means noob. You need to be reading all you can bro.

Even sativas start out with wide(ish) leaves so no one's going to be able set you straight there.

i thought that you were supposed to top the plants until they started to flower? why would i top it at three nodes? and yea you can tell what they are when they start to sprout. i probably have a hybrid because it's showing signs of both i need advice from somone that knows what they are talking about.

Not too sure about watering because i Prefer hydro but as far as what you've posted they don't look bad at all... I've heard a few people on the other hand who where apposed to the miracle grow soil. What nutrients are you planning on using later on? I went with GH for my first grow, think i'm probably going to use them next time as well because they keep it simple

if your using dirt you should only water until a little runoff comes out... then leave it until you can stick your finger to the first knuckle for small pots and the second knuckle for larger pots before you water again. Make sure its almost dry where your feeling.

I noticed with my plants they didnt show signs of over watering until they were about as tall as a bic lighter.

As for topping at 3 nodes.... that sounds a little early... but topping is a good way to get 2 crowns which is good for small grows. then keep the topping as a clone...

ok well, that makes me feel a lot better, i was worried about. i'll cut back on watering them. i was gonna try to do without nutrients but if it helps the situation then i might have to. but thanx for the info, i will keep you posted on how they do.

your plants dont need any nutes bro. Seedlings feed off of their starter leaves.

Looking at your plants to me it looks like they are stretching out. What kind of lights are you using? Try to get them as close as possible without burning. Use your hand and if you can hold your hand there without it getting too warm then your plants should be ok there.

Ill post a picture of one of mine. It is within an inch from my lights and im using CFL's.

My plants probably about the same height as yours from the looks of it.

i'm using a t12 6500k daylight flourescent and i have it about an inch and a half above the plants i did have it about 3 or 4 inches to start but moved it down like two days ago. there is only one plant that i have a problem with but it keeps growing, the only problem it has a yellow lining on one of the leaves?

if you have been feeding it nutes then its probably burned. also if you were overwatering that could have the same effect. like i said i never saw signs of overwatering in my seedlings but then again im sure i didnt overwater. if you did then the leaves will curl down and sit in the dirt. the tips of the leaves will get wet and get burned. sometimes chemical sometimes from the light being magnified through the water.

keep the lights nice and close and get a small fan blowing some air around them. you want to see them moving a bit. the stalk will start to thicken up over time.

A nice close light is key to a high leaf count. this is my first ever grow and ive had problems but my plants are thick and leafy.

Ive never used tube floros but i dont think they could be as good as CFL's.

I went to home depot yesterday and gor 2 6ft. extension cords for $15. Got 4 sets of Phillips CFL's that are 100 watt equivilants for $40 (8 bulbs). Got 4 y splitters for like $3 each. Some adapter to plug into an extension cord for like $3 each. I got 4 bulbs off of each extension cord. With a powerbar you can do up to 12. CFL's give off more lumens. They are cheap to do it high quantities too if you look in the right places!

Good luck man.

Sounds like you're overwatering them bud. Dont water so frequently because you can suffocate the roots, and no oxygen or CO2 will get to them, eventually killing them. The soil looks very moist in all of the pictures, and at this point, you can tell when to water easily by how moist the soil is.

ok, thanks for the advice. i will probably repot them tonight and cut back on the watering. three of the plants seem to be doing really well but two are kinda dwindline out. i will make some changes tonight. anything else?

Should only repot if your seeing roots in the drain holes under the pot. Like more than 1. The first root is a feeler. It feels for the bottom and tells the other roots when its there. Then the others follow. You want the others to follow down there first. This will promote growth. If you repot with no roots down there then you wont be seeing any new growth for a while because while the feelers looking around the plant is doing much of anything else. When the roots ahve a chance to thicken up the plants will show nice growth.

mine did that. they will grow again. its like my last post said about the roots looking for the bottom still. when the roots have gotten stronger and thicker they will take off!

Alright, there are two that are really doing well still but i got one that looks like it is need of something real bad. i made the mistake of giving them this root strenthener and i think they might have nute burn because it was not meant for this type of plant and i fucked up but i'm letting them rest and dry out for a couple of days and then start it back up. they already today started to pick back up a little but two of them look kinda stained. will they go away once everything drys out?
