tomorrow im finnaly getting my first real light! a 400watt metal halide kit. im going to be putting it in a 2X3.8ft closet on 1 plant, the plant is currently under a double t8. since this is my first grow id just like some ppl to point out some things i might want to consider for my new grow space/setup. and also where is a good website to order a water ph tester and clone dome from canada?. heres the pic of my plant its about a month old its so small cause i planted it in plain soil then i ended up getting nitrogen def and it wasnt growing much for about the first 20 days then i got some 20-20-20 and it started growing wild!

I have a 400w with a silverstar aircooled hood in an 8x8x8 room, and I use a 6inch 400CFM to exhaust. It pulls pretty hard, enough that my intake fan is almost useless which is a good thing.

I'd highly suggest looking at aircooled hoods if you didnt order one with your new light. I went with a standard batwing for 1year and am hating myself for it. With the A/C hood you can get the light within inches of the canopy, which means quicker growth, higher yeilds, and short internode spacing which makes for some sexy looking colas.

I bought my fan from here http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/active-air-inline-fans-c-76_744.html very cheap prices, but note since you are in Canada you'll be looking at an additional $43 shipping fee when UPS delivers it, because of border brokerage fees. It still was worth it imo, still cheaper than any stores i could find in Canada. That fan has a 5year warranty and is pretty damn quiet, the only noise is the air rushing through the ducting so a silencer would be a good option if you have neighbors and are exhausting outside.

This is a good Canadian online store for other supplies: http://www.canadianwholesalehydroponics.com/index.cfm

Good Luck

its only going to be a batwing kit its used and only 60$ but its only for now and for 1 plant.
yeah, I know how it is. Dont worry though, you can still get nice results with the batwing. You can get it pretty close if you keep a fan blowing across the bulb/canopy. You will need to exhaust the air from that room though, or the temps will climb. You can get away with a regular fan but the inline ones are worth it because the ducting is easy to seal, and you get a much higher cfm per watt. They will also last alot longer than a walmart fan and have a warranty. The 400CFM that I linked is only $79, and I have no complaints with it. (keep in mind the $40 brokerage fee if its going across the border). i dont think youll find one cheaper than that though.

btw $60 for a used batwing is a bit steep, i think they are only $35 brand new. or did you mean 60 for the light n all?

Happy Growing:leaf:
