My 190 should be coming.. I've got some sprouts almost a week old on some cfls.. about 46w now.. was 90+.. anyways just wanted to make sure I could start the led at sprout power and distance or if I should take any precautions that the manufacturer wouldn't include in recommendations.

Thanks!!

You can use the LED at sprout if that's what your asking? 190w led should be placed around 12-16 inches from my research. I had one (180w) and had it at 14in. I got the cheap china ones and had to return it... it sucked lol getting nitrogen toxicity didn't help.. lol

If you're talking about the 190W xgs from A51, I have two going. I ran my clones under them in veg, and then flipped to flower. I have to say they've done an amazing job the whole time, and I'm extremely happy I got them. Stay at the recommended heights, and you'll be fine. As with any lighting though some strains will like more light, and others less. I have an OBR inches from a panel in flower, and it has never shown any bleaching. My Bay11's however like a quite a bit more distance. It's all about experimentation after you're comfortable with your new light. Best of luck in the garden bro.

Do you mean an A51 XGS190? I emailed A51. They said we could run it at the lowest setting (65W) at 12" distance until the plant or plants were 12" across. Then it's time to move it further away and crank it up to 130W. More details on their website. A week ago I had it too close to our two young plants. About 4 or 5". We pulled it back to the recommended setting and a few days later the girls seemed happier.

If its the new Area-51 light I would keep it atleast 18" away, it got 5W chips, tho all white, but still going to provide too strong light at closer distance, I can see it on my girls (under 3W chips with double lenses) if it get too close, even tho it don't bleach them (mostly happens to the Bud top`s) you will see them leaves bend downwards, move it up and you will see em reach for the light like a happy healthy plant

And a Bud from a previous grow who got bleach a bit

Don't seems to effect the Bud much, other then you get a Albino Bud :D full of trichomes, tho Im sure it do have a small negative effect on the grow rate, I found that my LED panels do best at 20" as the plant at the center of the light would get too much light at closer range, but I do try to let em grow up a bit closer at the edges of the light (if that make any sense)

I am definitely going LED albeit now or later. It looks sexy, and the plants seem to love it best!!! Don't get me wrong, all the other light systems work great but this is by far the best. If you decide to grow with LED I want to pay attention. Let me know!

I'm going to, the light is already on it's way.
Thanks for the responses everyone. I was just trying to make sure I wouldn't destroy my plants with the LED(or cause them to turn into raging beasts that would consume my friends and family) when they've been on a low wattage cfl since "birth".

No, LED are bad they give you cancer and have a 9 in 10 chance of causing mutations in your genes leading to defects at birth to you or your partner. Of course they're not bad! Why do you think lots of growers prefer them over other lighting?
