New Jersey Gay Marriage!!!

yep.

thats why the court ruling.

the court as i recall, ruled that any "Gay Marriage" was invalid except in that state, or in other states which have elected to honor them, and all "Gay Marriages" would be considered "Domestic Partnerships" with regards to federal law and whatnot.

then you got douches like Gavin "Any Twosome" Newsome conducting "Gay Marriages" in direct violation of california law, and court injunctions based on his Plenipotentiary Power as Mayor of SF...

that really cheesed off a lot of people, and was a prime reason Prop 8 passed.

Edit.. so high i forgot which side the prop was on...

anyhow, the court used the now familiar "You Have No Standing" dodge to vacate the ruling of constitutionality for prop 8 (from the ninth circuit, would you believe) thanks to Jerry Moonbeam Brown refusing to defend a lawfully passed amendment to the Calif Constitution.

hell if you cant win, SANDBAG IT.

you don't get to put minority rights up to a majority vote, as much as that may piss you off.

if you were your current age about 50 years ago, you would have died an early death by aneurysm.

i dont wanna blow your mind Bucky, but i OPPOSED prop 8

i am in favour of Gay Marriage, and even donated a couple bucks of my meager pay to support the fight against the proposed amendment.

i however OPPOSE Moonbeams decision to sandbag the duly passed amendment by refusing to defend it, and the court's shameful method of overturning the law by declaring "No Standing" instead of hearing arguments and making a ruling.

it was shabby and cowardly on the part of Moonbeam and the court.

you'd have found as much to bitch about if jerry brown had done the exact opposite simply because jerry brown is somewhere to the left of torturing adorable puppies for personal amusement, making him far too "leftist" for you to tolerate in any way.

while i'm sure that assumption and it's attendant fallacies are a comfort to you, i do not oppose Moonbeam when he (hypothetically) does something i like, just as i would not oppose obama when he makes a decision of which i approve.

Examples:
i think Samantha Powers is doing a fine job, despite my general opposition to the bureaucracy she was appointed to represent us in.
i generally approve of the audit and implementation of cost saving measures in government bureaucracies implemented by Obama, i just wish he had gone further and eliminated a few, and rolled a few together to reduce redundant expenditures.
/end of examples.

that's a pretty short list, however i hold very different views and priorities from The Immaculate One, so even this brief list is surprising in it's scope.

i didnt approve of many of the BOOOOSH policies either.

but then i hold a principled position, independent of the demands of partisanship and jingoism.

it's not an assumption, it's a fact.

whether brown defended prop 8 or not, you would have formulated an argument to bitch about him.

one thing you won't do, however, is harpoon chris christie for vetoing new jersey's duly passed marriage equality law.

nor will you harpoon the guy for saying afterwards that civil rights for gays should be put up to a majority vote instead.

because we all know how good an idea putting minority rights to a majority vote are.

you are so transparent that it's a joke.

I've always laughed at how many anti-gay folks still jerk off to lesbian porn. But then again most of the anti-gay rhetoric is squarely aimed at man on man anal sex. For some reason a man's anus is different than a woman's I guess.

I do respect people's opinions that are worried about how this whole process is going about, though. Some questionable legal practices have been used, but then again some questionable legal practices were used to outlaw it in the first place.

again, a PRINCIPLED POSITION. Gov Christie has the veto pen, and if he chooses to use it, then he must face a possible override (didnt happen), public backlash (didnt happen) impeachment and removal from office (didnt happen) or loss of the next election (probably wont happen). further, since you do not live in New Jersey, do not get to vote in New Jersey elections, and have no stake in whether or not New Jersey apporves or disallows Gay Marriage, why so butthurt over the exercise of a constitutionally granted power being used in the manner intended?

is Chris Christie gonna slam a Bundle Board down between you and Cheesus to halt your expression of The Love That Dare Not Speak It's Name?

is Chris Christie gonna lurk outside your favorite bathhouse with a sandwich board exhorting you to Pray The Gay Away?

InB4 you say he would eat the sandwich board cuz he is fat.

Krispy Kreme Christy is patiently waiting to become the next John McCain and Mitt Romney. Anxious to dazzle Republicans as the next failed nominee for president.

you are the reason why only 30% of americans have a positive view of the republicans, and even less have a positive view of the tea party.

correction, 28%

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/Gallup-Republicans-approval-lowest/2013/10/09/id/530247

but then, im not a big fan of the republicans in congress either. they have been weak on the shit i care about, and adopted a hardline on BULLSHIT thats totally irrelevant.

the republicans are trying so hard to be The Other Democrat Party that they have abandoned their core principles, and their core supporters, which would be REPUBLICANS.

the polling about the Tea Party is pointless. they have been so thoroughly slandered by the press that Al Quaeda has lower negatives than the Tea Party.

and yes, it is all deliberate, and calculated. even the Republicans are slamming the Tea Party, the republicans are afraid they will be the Whigs of the 21st century.

Me personally? I'm responsible? You've got to be kidding.
We will find out where the American people stand on Obamacare in the months ahead. It's too soon to determine that now...
