I just started growing again after a 30 year hiatus. Things have come A LOOOONG way since I last grew dope in college. Great to have a resource like RIU.org to fall back on. I am 8 weeks into this grow. I started out with 6 plants. A floro fixture got "knocked over" by our little fucking rat dog and killed one of them, another went for unknown reasons. (It looked REALLY weak, so I did it in). I have 4 left. 2 confirmed females, one thats showing female characteristics (pistils) but COULD be a hermie, and a younger by 1 week plant thats not showing yet. All in all, not a bad M/F ratio. All are really stout, healthy plants.
My set up started out as a closet grow, and quickly expanded to the entire guest room!! (Never did like a bunch of guests anyhow) I have 2 400w lights on the 4 plants right now, and I have 4 more lights in reserve for future grows. (3 HPS, and 3 MH 400w)
I am growing in soil, using square 4 gal buckets. Square seems to be great for packing them in.

These pics are a few weeks old, The babies are about 3' tall now, and into the second week of flowering.
Lemme know what you think!!!

Nice! Good luck the grow, everything looks great so far...and wow you're using alot of light. I have a 2x2 ft grow space, three plants and I'm only using a 250 watt HPS/MH set up...good luck again!!!

Thanx. This is my first totally indoor grow, so it's a learning experience. I'm getting an idea on the limitations. I now know that I gotta top/prune these babies from now on, 'cuz they are about 20" from the lights, and only 2 weeks into fowering.
I am learning how many plants I can realisticly pack in this space, and all kinds of other shit. This crop is from bag seed, and totally experimental for learning purposes. I figure it'll be as good or better than the dope it came from. Next crop will be from good seed stock purchased.
I want to be able to get about 20 to 25 good plants in this room per crop. The wife and I got sick and tired of the hassle trying to consistently get good smoke. We had a source for YEARS. Real reliable and consistently high quality.
I decided that if I'm gonna grow our own, I might as well make it worth while. Big enough to be profitable, small enough to stay under the radar. I have a commercial building on the same power meter as the house, so if they ask about the increase in power use (I'm betting they won't, tho) I'll tell them I upgraded my shop lights!!!
