New here. This is my golden tiger grow

Usually I just post this stuff on Reddit, Just signed up here because there's some quality content. For context, I'm an experienced grower, I'm also an adult uni student studying horticultural science and I have a passion for cannabis.

This grow has been a real treat, I was warned by others that it would be a real challenge to grow golden tiger without issues but I reckon I've nailed it so far. Both plants are at 14 weeks flowering and the plant with the slower flower formation will get another month probably. Clear differences in scent, more developed plant smells like mango and the plant with a greater leaf area Index smells like whiteboard marker.

I appreciate any comments or feedback.
Cheers

I know nothing about that strain but assume from the look that it’s a heavy sativa Dom….??
The plants look good…..you’re dialed in for sure.
Can i ask what is your medium and how/what you’re feeding ?

A cost effective soil blend for these, premium potting mix, compost, blood and bone, sulphate of potash. I don't add any bottled nutes until mid to late flower, and I only had to top dress with blood meal once. I decided to use 80 litre fabric pots as the long flowering cycle demands more root space. Golden tiger is a pure sativa of landrace heritage, bred by ace seeds.

Those are looking great. I have a golden Tiger and 2 Malawi going this grow, getting ready to flip to flower soon. It’s been a while since I grew sativas with such a long flower time, I hope they turn out as nice as yours!

I thought it was for the quality content...it may get less traffic than Reddit, but the content is quality.

Nice plants btw!
I was beginning to think this forum wasn't active anymore that's all. Cannabis cultivation is my passion and it's what inspired me to return to school. I wanted to grow this for thx challenge and to see if the rumours are true about some of these pure sativas

Everyone I've talked to who has grown anything Malawi related has had great things to say about both yields and potency. I believe the GT pheno with this faster flower formation is likely heavy on the Malawi heritage, all I know is it's the phenotype I will likely keek working with. I see a lot of people on these forums are keen on breeding with ace genetics, not gonna lie I'm tempted to do that myself soon even though it would be a really long journey.

I FUCKING LOVE GOLDEN TIGER! Your girl is looking lovely and I agree you are probably another month away from finishing. I’m actually on it as I type, and is my goto for golfing. I find I’m very focused, very motivated, energetic but it can be relaxing enough that I could eventually nap away. I’ve grown her twice and both took 18-19w for flowering. I did 7G pots with just all purpose soil. I found them both a little spicy, mandarin orange peel taste on the first and this one sort of the same but maybe more mango and vanilla.

Hell yeah this is what I like to see. Such a rewarding grow and I'm sure you felt the same. I will probably harvest the most developed plant (on the left) tonight, the other plant still needs to thicken up before I even consider chopping it. I'd consider leaving the chunky one for another week or so but I'm about to run out of edibles and I don't do well with my studies sober.

Just FYI, there's an entire forum on icmag devoted to Ace strains, and a 100+ page thread for Golden Tiger... Dubi even participates in most of the threads

I think the opposite of the popular comment. Looks very under lit and larfy
1000w of lighting above these. Golden tiger is bred from a variety of landrace strains so takes a while to fill out - upto 18 weeks of flowering. The plant on the left is actually really dense and the buds are getting quite heavy. The plant on the right is the slower phenotype and will thicken up given another month. Believe it or not there are actually well on track, no shortage of lighting, in fact some tops were getting a bit of light stress earlier in flowering so I pulled the lights up a bit and evened things out.

What light do you have that's 1000 watts and blurple and why 1000 watts for 2 plants? Not trying to start shit, just looking at what you got.going on

Half blurple and half full spectrum lighting, assorted fixtures. The blurple lights will get phased out and gradually replaced with more full spectrum. Need 1000w due to the blurple lights being less efficient. Taking me a while to get the optimum setup as it relies on my wife agreeing to let me splash out on new gear, which is infrequent.
