New growth shoots or male flowers?

To me, they really appear like new growth shoots, but there are already two growth shoots and two leaves on the node.

With that said, i am beginning to believe this plant is male. today is day 13 since i flipped the lights.

it's looked like this for the last 3 nights. will check again tonight when they wake up.

i've heard of crab claw looking male flowers, is this what i have here?

You may want to wait till you see a definite preflower. Males are spade shaped or will appear as a tiny ball in the crook of the internode. Females are typically teardrop or conical, and obviously will put forth pistils. Asexual preflowers and strange "crabclaw" leaf growths can occur on males, females, or hermaphrodite.

cool, i am quite familiar with what male and female flowers look like. these were unusual to me.

this plant won't die, unless its a herm. will either produce bud of donate pollen

I have a strain that loves to produce unusual growths and self top, with all the polyhybrids these days I would be surprised if a unicorn horn grew from an internode.

Is that a spidermite egg lower right? Small web developing on left branch?

now that you mentioned it, this plant self topped, plus its had a rough life as it contracted root rot. almost got it under control.

It would be cool to learn what the scientific names of these growths are. I've also wondered what the spears are at the internodes. I've had landrace Sativas make these tiny Brussels sprout looking deals prior to indicating sex, like the crab claw but tighter cluatered, but I haven't done enough if them to observe a higher instance of males or herms.
