So, by the title you can already tell this is going to be me asking for tips on growing. Now I'm no newbie to smoking or anything, however I'm new to forums like this and growing. So recently I got a plant from a friend. He said it was about 2 weeks along and it looked about that too. The reason he just gave it to me is because the cotyledon leaves where turning yellowish.

I looked it up and have read that when that happens it's not abnormal? It won't effect the grow? Let me know please.

I've got it on 18/6 right now, when would be a good time to change that and what to change it to?

Also, my friend had put some nutes in it when he first started it. With me living where I'm at right now, I don't have access to all the fancy store bought nutes. So since the plant (supposedly, hopefully) is only 2 weeks along I was going to just keep watering it, keeping the climate in the room controlled, and keep it on 18/6. But I want to know if I should just ride out the nutes he put in from the start or if I should add more at some point? Please let me know. Im unsure as to what nutes he used but I can ask if necessary.

If someone could either refer me to a page were all these questions are answered, or answer them for me, that'd be awesome. Any extra tips or anything would also be nice. Thank you! Also if anyone who reads this wants to pictures of my set up or plant, I can do that

you started off entirely wrong, as many do. *sigh* you don't know how to care for cannabis, but you have your plant.

*empties entire belt of .50 cal. into young cannabis plant*

whew......I feel better :)

but, really. jump off your wallet, and buy a grow guide.

Need pics and iam sure me and many others will help u with ur problems u dont need money to get a growers guide u can steal em off any good torrent site lol and welcome to riu
Don is a top grower but I hooe he sidnt put u off cause riu rocks

well it's not that I don't know how to care for cannabis because of ignorance, I've just never gotten Into growing. I've always gone through dispensary for my buds. So yeah I'm 100% clueless besides a few things my buddy is helping me with.

If you don't mind me asking though, how did I start off wrong? Not doubting that I did, just wondering how.

Nah he didn't put me off haha I understand, I'm a newbie. I'm sure I'll have a lot of problems and do a few things wrong but I'll learn lol. And yeah I'll get more pictures but this is all I have right now because I'm not at home. This is the most recent pic of the plant I have.

Hi mate its fine if the first leaves dry up and die long as the true leaves live on

Dont feed her anything apart from PH'd water she doesn't need any fancy stuff till shes got around 3 sets of nodes

and even then you can still just run her on water if u dont have a PH test and cant afford one just leave your water out for 24 hours before watering

Dont over water her wait till soil drys out a little should take 2 to 4 days if your using Cfl lights keep them around 3 - 6 inchs away from her

Weeds is just that a weed all you need is water and light

Don't over think it just feed her and leave her and she love you for it

Ps: about the 18/6 is for veg you do this till your happy with her size just remember when you change

To 12/12 is flowering this is telling your plant its time for her to start showing her flowers and buds will start with in a 2 weeks she will double or sometimes triple in size so keep that in mind

Good luck with your first grow and keep us posted

Your welcome mate we all need help sometimes this is a great place there is so much info and a lot of people willing to help or at least point you in the right place

don't worry if you come across some ass holes every now and then that's just apart of life

Also if you don't already have a small fan blowing on your lady get one it will make her stronger just make sure its not to powerful to blow her over I did that with one of my seedlings once

I no its hard but try to limit your self on how much you look at her she will be shy and seem like shes not growing :)

Organic soil, 10-15-10 nutes in the very beginning, haven't put nutes in it since. Just been feeding her PH water.

Water it once then wait for it to dry out it should be bigger for 2 weeks to test if its dryed out pick the pot up or stick finger 2 inches down if its wet dont feed feeding of seedlings is vey important less water = more root the seedling have everything they need in there seed when they hatch all they need is a tiny bita water and they will dig deeo for more

Ok that helps......Soil good, nutes not so good. The ratio is off - the P is to high....even if you cut it back by 75% the p is still to high for vegging.

If you can get your hands on DynaGro Foliage pro or Grow......gets some! A Far better NPK ratio for your needs and it's a 1 part so it's simple and newbie friendly!

Organic soil,,,,does it have dolomite lime or oyster shell in it?
pH all ingoing liquids to 6.5 and water with that.

it has dolomite lime. Ph is all good.. I'll look into that DynaGrow, I'm making a trip to a local indoor growing shop later so I should be able to come up on some. If not I'll check back for some other reccomendations if you could leave me some

Currently letting the soil dry. It was slightly over watered when I got it but not too bad and it's already looking healthier and the leaves aren't slouching or welty looking so I think it's doing fine. Hopefully it's all smooth from here. Thanks for the help :)
