New Grower

hey guys im new to all this lol.... i just planted my first seeds and i need some help with germination and raising....well first question is...how long should it take for my seeds to sprout???and how much sunlight should i give them and how much water????all posts will be helpfull thanks guys....and also other helpfull tips on growing them out side...cuz i am growing them out side...thnx

Your seeds should sprout in around 3-5 days depending on strain and how much you saturated the soil. You don't need TOO much light(dont use an HID if u can avoid it). Jorge cervantes says 4,000 LUX, but I don't think you have a light meter lol. I put my seedlings 1 and a half feet away from my 125 watt cfl bulb. If you need more help you can msg me. Also riddleme is a very helpful individual if u see him on ask his advice too.

they should break the soil in a day or two if you germinated

and water when the soil is actually dry; you can test it by poking your finger into the soil, or by weight. one of the most common problems new growers face is over watering, so take it easy

are you planning on growing outdoors?

how wet the soil/medium was to start with

I am an indoor grower but can help with a few things

advise you spend time reading/posting questions in the outdoor forum

and follow any advice from FDD2BLK as he is the king of outdor growing here,

thnk riddleme and the soil was not vay wet but it was damp and moist...the seeds were lest outside overnight and they were kinda wet to .....what should i do now??

yeah bro, this is the easy part of the grow, save your stress for feeding nutrients or determining the sex of the plant

+alright well i dident germinate first i hope it still works will the wetness effect there sprouting and how long might it take for them to sprout in these conditions?????

5-7 days? maybe less, maybe more

outdoor is very similar to indoor when it comes to this part of it.

alright thanks and when should i water a week???

when the soil is more dry than wet. again read my blog post on it. I explain what happened to me in great detail.

seeds need to be in damp not wet soil for them to germ. to much water and they drown so to speak visa verse they dry out... i would cover them up in a glass or plastic wrap. they take anywhere from 1 to 10 days(including germ process)days this is noob to noob info should help tho
