hi everyone, im definitely a newbie at this, I started growing from a friends seeds. Im in college, and have limited space for growing, and I am kind of getting a feel for growing before i return home and start to seriously try. Currently i have two plants, i followed the guide under the newbie section, and germinated them for three days, planted them, and now, 2 days later the sprouts are poking through the soil and are about a cm tall. I have been giving them 24 hrs of light, but a post i read gave me some concern. I am curious about this:

I keep the plants which are in two different pots (mt dew bottles with the tops cut off) and descent soil. I keep them in 24 hrs light. in the day time, the light i keep them in is sunlight, then when the sun goes down, i keep them in florescent light. is this bad? should i keep them in florescent? thanks

i would keep them uder flouro's. sunlight is much stronger, and the plants will want to stretch due to inadequate lighting (not what they are used to)

kinda like going from hid to cfl's, they just don't like it.

M-Dew bottle is a no no.. light on the root's not good..And transplanting is tricky from pop bottles do to irregular shape.

I like 18/6 light every thing need's to sleep.. are you at peak performance after staying awake for day's? Just my opinion other's do it different..

Ya, i wasnt sure about the clear bottles, i read in another post, that the user used clear pots and got away with it with descent results. i will change that. I guess ill have to cut the bottles when the transplant occurs.

should i start to keep them in 18/6 and move them under fluorescents all the time?
