new grower. will growing buy a window work??

hey. im new to growin so im tryin to figure out a very easy way to grow without spendin that much money... i have planted(followin many diff. guides) a couple plants by a window and they seem to be doin pretty good but idk if they are gettin enough light... does any one think that growin by a window would work??? i have a fan runnin to keep it from gettin to hot from the sun...


i also have two plants under 2 4ft long floresent tube lights... does anyone that that this wil work either?? i have another 2 bulb floresent bulb that i could use but right now i have it off bcuz i would have to relocate the whole thing in order to get the light to my plants... should i just take the time to relocate it to get more light??

i do not have a grow room or anythin but i am really tryin to grow sum of my own bud so that i can make some money and so i can enjoy it myself!!!

that seeds that i planted are blueberry yum yum that i got out of a bag of weed that i got from my friend who grows...

HELP PLEASE!!! this is my first time and i need some step by step directions on what i need to do now... all but two of my plants are 3 weeks old and are still kind of small but im not sure if they are supossed to be that size at this point... HELP PLEASE!!!

I just thought that i would add in that i have one of those aerogarden thingys sittin around that i dont use... could i use it in any way???

well first off it would be better if those window plants were just on the other side of that window like nest to the step to your back yard. If you dont have a backyard then the window will be ok just dont expect worlds finest. also growing by sunlight depends on what country you live in and what month you started.

also the florecents are kind of iffy if you dont know the Kalvin spectrum. if you still have box or if there is a sticker on your light then look for a big K and then a number i beleive if you are in a veg state you will need a 6500-6700K at 18 hours light 6 hours dark and if you are in flower state you will need 2700K at 12 light and 12 dark

Don't bother if all you have is a window. How would you flower it? 12/12? you NEED a grow-space to control light and dark. thats the # 1 requirement.
You can veg plants with a 4ft flouro tube. I've done it. My 1st grow. It actually works really good if you keep it RIGHT ON the plants. and for only a few weeks before they're too big and you have to flower them or give them more light. But if you dont have some real light to flower under....again, don't bother.
CFL's are your best bet. you will need a minimum of 4 for a small plant (less than a foot). One at first then two, three, they grow fast and it'll need more light. And the more the better.
Read the GrowFAQ and also go to the CFL forum, there is a CFL tutorial.

yeah i wish that i could put them outside too but i cant bcuz the nieghbers would see them... but yes i am in the veg stage... how long should i let them veg before i should move them under my floresents??

the window and the floro lights will both work, just not very well. Don't expect much for yield.

the length u let it veg is complety up 2 u. if u want you can let it veg for over a year. But u should prolly let it veg at very most absolute least 6 weeks. but i would recomend 12 weeks but that just my prefference you can choose whatever you want

ok. so what im gettin out of this is that i should build a gorw box... is there a way to build a cheap grow box that will fit in my closet and can hold multiple plants??? im tryin to grow as much as i can... any ideas??? my closet is about 2 feet deep, 5 feet wide, and 8 feet tall... any ideas about how many plants i can grow in there and what it would take to do it??

buy some cheap hps i found some w/ ballast for 70 buy like 2 then get some chains from your shop lights to hang them then get some mylar cover the walls , then if you want do some sorta hydro in there

ok! thanks!! where did u find the hps w/ballast??? website??? store??? and im not sure what mylar is... is there a link u can give to me that i can buy some?? and how would i set up a hydro system?? and i would like to be able to get as many plants growing as healthy as they possible in my closet so how many plants do u guys think that i can get in there??

it depends on watts but get like 10 and Y sockets then plug those into lamp sockets then just hang those dont forget a fan though cause it'll get hot, also you dont need 10 right out from the go but youll need 10 maybe more at the end

ok. so is that really the best way to go u think?? it seems like that would cost alot... is there a cheaper way to do this?

Search my username for my threads - I have grown 2 absolutely beautiful flowering plants - in my windows. At 3 months I started them on 12/12. I move them twice a day - east to west window, then to the dark room for sleepin :). Sometimes if it's cloudy, I break out some artificial light - but nothing fancy.

I suppose I could have done a much better job, but this is my first grow and it's goin great. 2 weeks flowering now, my buds are going crazy and my plants are loaded. I'm lucky not to have close neighbors too.
