Over the years I have seen many friends grow and well, its my turn. I own my home and have a nice finished and vented room in the basement that I just need to section off. I pretty much have my "buy" list and I am looking for input/opinions. I am mainly starting, to grow my own smoke.
I am still not sure what growing medium I want to use. I was debating using B'cuzZ Hydromix as the local hydro store carries it, but it cost $43 for 3.8 Cubic Ft. Seems expensive t me. Using this stuff I am told gets rid of the chance of an outside bug problem. Using this would be a soilless medium correct? I have no issues going to home depot and grabbing something, but from what I can tell its all just miracle grow, and I assume that is bad? Opinions on B'cuzZ Hydromix?
The budding room will be 6'x5'x80.5''. There is a vent in the lower section of the room from the main furnace/ac going into it. Good, bad, opinion? It goes off of the thermostat in a separate room though sadly. I am going to hook the blower/scrubber up to the cooltube and have it exhaust out of the room. I will put a separate intake with a duct fine in to the cool tube if needed.

I plan on buying two of these. One for the budding room, and one for the growing/clone room. For now I think I am going to leave my clones and growers in the same room on a 24 hour cycle to keep it easier for my newb self.
Anyone have any input on this brand?

What is the difference between the soil and hydro version?

5 Gallon buckets. I plan on taking clones and putting them directly into the 5 gallon bucket they will be budding in.(It will stay in the same 5gallon bucket the whole time.

I read the guide on this forum, but I still have a question about watering. I plan on using tap water. I assume just follow the directions on the bottle in regards to portions(Using the PPM meter?)
In regard to checking the PH. Just get a soil PH meter with my setup? Or should I also get a water one and test the water before I feed the plants, and the water in the drainage trays?
I plan on starting with 6 plants. I am going to get a clone of the good stuff from a friend
