New grow

Hey everyone. Still trying to get the hang of growing so I wanted everyone's input. I started a new white widow seed in rockwool. I presoaked the rockwool cube in 5.5 ph and soaked the seed in tap water for 18 hours before placing it in the rockwool cube. I keep the cube in a humidity dome at about 75-80 degrees with a humidity of about 60-80%. The dome has 4 23w 6500k cfls approx 14-16 inches away. Seedling sprouted yesterday morning and I just wanted to know if it looks healthy or if I am doing something wrong.

hey you want those CFLs wayyyy closer or they won't do shit they only have a inch or two of light penetration, for now they should be like 2in away until the plant get to its first or third leaf set then keep them at a min. 1in away other than that it seems pretty good

Also I just now saw the jpeg those first cotyledon leaves are droopy, how much water are you giving it?
I've just been spraying the dome with water and once a day I soak half of the cube in 5.5ph water for like 5 seconds. Cube is moist but not dripping.

Hmm that sounds good, Idk I guess just let her grow, if she starts yellowing then you'll have to double check what your doing

She started drooping last night. I thought maybe it was a little over watered. So I let her sit over night, and still looked the same this morning. So I don't know. I did the 5 second soak this morning before I left for work. I will post an updated photo of her when I get home later.

Ok, and also it just may be the lights because they are way too far, if you get them closer to her I bet she'll perk and love it

Yea those two cups are seedlings I did with sunshine advanced mix #4. Trying to keep the humidity up on em. I screwed up on the ph with them so they are in ICU sort of speak.

damn, yea that'd def. Get the humidity up but it will prevent as much light from getting to the leaves, try and get a humidity/ temperature gauge to keep in there, Id take the bags off and if they need more humidity you can literally just put a bowl of water in there with them and it will raise it alittle

I've got a temp/humidity guage for the cabinet. Stays at 75 degrees and 40% RH inside cabinet.
Ok yea that temp is good, humidity could be higher but you don't want the bags covering the plants very much, you could try a humidipak like people do when curing they're buds

Why has no one picked up that's he's watering a seedling everyday and keeping a bag over it? They are going to be way over watered, my seedlings only get watered once a week. And take those bags off that's doing more harm then good.

People have picked up on these things (me) and he doesent water it everyday he soaks it in pH fixed water for a couple of secs a day, which is not bad for it, only watering your seedlings once a week is bad for them, depending on how much you give them you should be watering at least every 2 days

My seedlings do fine. Soaking it in water everyday is still watering it everyday and in my opinion is bad for it. I only water when my soil is dry, roots need air just as much as water to grow.
