New England outdoors 2018

When are you guys counting as the first day of flower in Mass? I was eyeballing it at Aug 17th, but not sure.

Trying to get an average.. got a gorilla cookie that seems to be awfully close at 52 days. Probably start staggering the chop next few days.
 
I haven't a clue when flowering began for our ladies here in Mass. Our sativa plants are outside and entered flowering stage without forced light manipulation. We're guessing even later than Aug 20th. They didn't really start showing until 08Sep.

Lucky you get to chop soon.

We spent today tending to bud rot areas, but the plant as a whole need more time.

Around then probably, but honestly I stopped trying to keep track once I realized it was a nonfactor for me. The amount of days into flower dont effect when I cut, so I dont even bother counting anymore.

I used to though, and I usually saw the first budlettes between the 10th and the 20th, so your guesstimate is probably dead on. Not sure if you count the first day you see budlettes as the biggining of flower or the first day of buds, minus 1 week, since the buds probably take a while to form once flower technically starts. Is that right?

Luckily I was able to haul the 25 gallon into my house and it's in a 5x5. Most of my other plants are a lost cause.

Lucky indeed! We have ours in 30gal cloth pots. I can't move them on my own. I could try to get a rug or something under them and drag them. Our indoor tents could not handle even one of these giants at this point. So they are going to stay the course. Going to get pretty cold this week. Low 40's are coming. Anyone have experience on how that impacts outdoor crops?

I waited until it was bone dry then was able to heave it into a wheel barrow.. rolled the wheelbarrow up 1 stair right into my house.

I dont think 40s going to be an issue for the most part. Rather have a dry spell of five 39 degree days than 50 degree days with rain.

Nice! It is such a bummer about the weather this season...

Can you imagine what that would have looked like in another week or 2? My dear lord...

Well we're supposed to have the former here, so hopefully the plants will do their thing.

You might notice some purple and red colors. Anthocyanins (the purple pigments in plants) get a little more frisky when it's cold.
 
Some cold temps are coming to new england this week. Lows for the next ten days will run in and around 40 degrees. Our Haze dominant strains need as much time as possible (somewhere around week 8 of flower).

We can't cover or move them inside. Should we cut or let them continue onward?

Let them go, Only way I would pull them is they are starting to show signs of rot, or there is a heavy deep freeze coming...
