Hey man about your lights. I have a couple of 250 watt mh and I just use one for germing. I would suggest getting one because they are cheaper than a 400 watt system and it is more than enough power for what you need. Im about to start ordering seeds for my outdoor 09 grow...so excited. GO NEW ENGLAND. Hopefully it will be a good season. Any strains you like a lot?!?!?

Peace :leaf:

I'm into all different ones, but the one that really stood out that came around here was Jack Frost (apparently) and Northern Lights.

Lots of daddy purp impersonators and stuff round here.

UPDATE: Purchased 400W MH/HPS conversion ballast/bulb. Should arrive in the oncoming week with mylar.

BUMP

I see 3 sprouts today from my germinated seeds! 2 are from the NL (one's even like a lime green color oooo) and the other is an AUH#1 I believe.

Checklist for this week:

- 400w MH/HPS light
- Timer
- Mylar
- Nutrients

I've already got a thermometer and some much better pots to put these in. Once I get un-lazy this morning I'll probably transplant them into the pots and label each cup better with plastic labels. I also purchased some rooting hormone for once I make clones and put these bad boys (hopefully girls :cuss:) go outdoors.

Expect a post in the next following day or so. :blsmoke:

I know this might sound like a newb question, but say I was using 1 tsp nutes - 1 gal of water for my plants, how would I even apply that? Would each plant need a gallon of water ontop of the tsp or could I just add a tsp onto the soil and water with a sprayer? I was under the impression I could just fill my water bottle accordingly with nute/water and spray my plants, but I'm not sure.

I am very much still a newb and I'm just wondering the most uncomplicated way to do this.

I would mix up the nute and water together an water it in using the pouring method lol. What ur discribing is folior feeding or how ever its spelled. Not to be done with the lights on or itll burn the leaves to shit.

Great thread you have going here! I am also another NE farmer and a newb. I had a question about the light cycle during the period my girls will be in my closet before they go outside, should I use a light cycle close to what they're going to experience outside like 12/12 at this time of year?

No u want a more sumer time cycle like 18/6, that will make sure the plants dont start budding too soon. They start budding in a 12/12 cycle

Day 5 (from sow)

I just transplanted all my plants into better and bigger pots (with individual water catchers). A couple of them I had trouble with and actually had to softly fish out the seedling :-(

Is this bad? I know transplanting does a lot of shock but I'd say 60% of them hadn't even sprouted. I took extreme care, I think I should be fine.

I just want my new lights and mylar to get here :wall:

Here's some pics of stoof cause I'm bored.

I had to friggin wedge a slipper in between this fan so it would stay aimed at the ground. 10 points! :hump:

Couple little itty bity seedling babies :bigjoint:

Temperature varies from 71F degrees - 81F degrees (although it's as low as 68 here >.<) Humidity is usually fro 38%-51% I've seen so far.

Things to come this week:

  • Mylar
  • 400W MH/HPS Conversion ballast/light.
  • Fox Farm Organic Nutrients 3-pack
  • New Oscilating fan (hopefully)
  • pH tester
I'm still super paranoid about how much space my closet can accommodate.

Hopefully 6-7 weeks of vegetative won't get too out of hand. I'll definitely need opinions on LSTing and topping. I've got a couple books I can refer to, but nothings as good as hearing it from someone who's been through the trial and error.

I believe... 16 of them are female and the rest are regular.

Yea I think it was just the crazy New England weather that made my room slightly colder. Goes from 68 degrees outside to 15 degrees yesterday and snowing, back to 55 degrees today.

Right now it's about 79F and 41% humidity.
