New Digital Sunpulse 600w MH Bulb Not Working in Phantom Ballast

Just got the newer released Sunpulse 600w pulse start MH bulb designed specifically for electronic ballasts. It works great in my 600w Lumatek ballast. However, my 600w Phantom ballast stays in standby mode and doesn't even start the bulb.

The Phantom works fine with a 600w Digilux HPS, so I'm a little surprised the Phantom didn't start it. I emailed where I bought it, Sunpulse, and Hydrofarm to see if there's any comment.

Anyone running a 600w sunpulse pulse start metal halide bulb in a 600w Phantom digital ballast? Or, any thoughts?

Any one with a 600w Phantom ballast and a 600w Sun Pulse MH 64K bulb. Does that combination work for you?

Why would you try a sunpulse when digilux'es are available? I think a CAP product would be a safer bet and they run off high frequency of digital ballasts? What would make sunpulse bulbs better? just curious, not raggin..

Back from the old post section because I just had the 600W MH Sunpulse not start again after it working for maybe 7 weeks. Also, this past week I noticed some faint flickering in the Sunpulse. This is right before it didn't start, so probably connected. I could have gotten a bad bulb, so not writing off the ballast, as it could be the bulb.

Anyway, used my 600W Lumatek backup ballast and the bulb lit right up, and doesn't seem to have that faint flicker anymore.

Possibly a compatibility issue with Phantoms and the Sunpulse MH 600W bulb specifically??? Only way to be sure, is to use a Digilux MH in the Phantom and see the behavior. This is why we have backup ballasts/lights :)
