damn I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD GET 85 OR 100 WATT CFLS. i bet they get hot though.
It's an outdoor or indoor fixture... you buy the box and then there are holes in it to put in the sockets... Lowes, Home Depot, they should all have them, just go snooping around the electrical area of one of those stores, you'll have all kinds of ideas... I didn't even think to use that thing until I saw it... only thing I didn't like about it was that it made me have to have the entire assembly like a foot up in the air cuz of the size of the bulbs, and they are too big to put out horizontally... you might be better off to check out something a little more low profile, I know the change I made is much better than what I started with...http://fileshack.us/get_file.php?id=741093&file=Capture.JPG
Where did you get that? I was looking all over for one of those today. I need something round or square that can hold 4-6 bulbs. Thanks in advance!
I burned my hand on one when the fans weren't running, but when the fans are on you can touch them all night long, they are cool to the touch and the room doesn't get terribly hot either... it's pretty consistent around 85F...damn I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD GET 85 OR 100 WATT CFLS. i bet they get hot though.
my 100w cfl kicks out some heat too, when my fan is off the plastic cover gets hot as hell. i duct taped the fixture to the hood of my new growbox and left it for an hour to see how much heat it produced when i had returned the tape had softened its grip because of the heat i guess. but with the fan on its consistantly about 70 degrees. my new box is sweet i have two 27w on three of the sidewalls on y splitters and on the fourth wall, above the fan, is another y splitter with two 42w cfls.and the hood has a 100w cfl fixture.if there still is a light problem i will swith the 27w with 42w bulbs but that will make the box even hotter probly in th 80s and im not sure wether my fan can chill that.
