New Cfl Grow Setup!! Comments

Hey I Just built a new grow room, well grow box i should say. I took a short filing cabinet and put on top a large cardboard box. I am using cfl's and am venting hot air out the top with a pc fan. I currently only have 3 23 watt 5000k cfl lights because i dont want my babies to dry out and die. Please comment on my setup, any criticism is appreciated.

can you paint the inside white or get some mylar for reflectivity. But it looks like it should work pretty good.

thanks i am getting mylar or something white to day, the bottom half is pretty reflective because it is dull aluminum, i am not sure how to start a journal though, how would i?

More pics. ok so here are some more pics of my babies, i know they aren't focused well, my camera has crappy closeup focusing, like really crappy. the smaller one sprouted on the 11 so its 6 days old, the bigger one was planted on the 9 so its 8 days old.
Do they look small for there age? i have seen plants that a week old that are HUGE, have four sets of leaves and so on.

dont sweat the size yet. Before you know it they will seem to grow over nite.

cool, i hope that happens tonight, ha. now i dont want them to over grow my space, so i was wondering if any body heard of early flowering, or something like that. i have seen people put their plants into the flowering stage after a week or to of veg, i guess so it doesn't grow as tall.. What kind of yields would this get, less then vegging for a while? or would it be more beneficial to let them veg longer? (note i have had plants outgrow my room and hit the lights, its not fun at all)

NEW GROWTH!!! well it finally happened, my babies are hitting a growth spurt. they are increases alot every day! here are some pics. one of my plants is starting to stretch every so slightly, but the other one is doing so good. i am soo excited.

The leaf looks realy weird... why is that ?

i once had a very small sprout in the sun alday and looked like it grew almost 1/4"

pick up the new seemorebuds book 8os for under 100 bucks i use this same cfl set up it is small and great for apt's but if you have the room to grow tall do it

Yeah i dont know about that leaf, the first "true" leaves on one plant are weird but the other leaves are coming in just fine.

The edges of all the leaves seam to be curling up. Im a noob. but it looks like heat to me. Keep up the good workpece man

Yes. Heat definetly looks like the issue here. I like your setup, and grow. Nicely done. Just wondering, but the CFL's that you have, what type are they? Soft white/Cool white? And how many lumens? Sorry , just being nosy. Also, from heat, do you have a fan in there? Besides the computer fan, you could always open it up a little bit before flowering for heat, and more airflow to strengthen your stem. Happy Growing and Good Luck!

hey guys i dont mind the questions at all. the two HUGE leaves that are curling up are just retarded, i dont know what happened there, i think when they were growing my fan might have turned off for a little. No im not ph ing my water, i am using Poland spring water(i know what you guys are thinking.. is he f*cking nuts) but i have at least three poland spring bottles every day and there is always left over water that i used to throw out so i used it for something good. eventually i will use tap water thats been sitting out for 2 days.
temp... i didnt think temp was an issue because temp is one thing i can brag about, on a really hot day, my temps hit 82 MAX.. they are almost always 77 degrees Fahrenheit day or night. I have that one computer fan for exhaust and i am adding a slightly smaller one on the bottom for intake near my plants.
